I'd rather have him than a young big for next season.

A Maggette/Kurt Thomas off-season wouldnt be too shabby. Maybe draft a PG or trade the pick w/ Redick for a playmaker...Calderon? Wishful thinking I know but Maggettte/Thomas is at least possible it appears.

Kurt can only punish us, not help us as Jacques Vaughn has proven.

This addition would require Hedo to be packaged. But for what, if the Magic get Corey and Kurt? Draft picks???

Or Hedo could accept a super sub role. But that is a big question mark at this point.

In todays game it doesnt seem that ludicious any more, Ben Gordon took that role then Manu Ginobli, essentially refered to as "starters off the bench". Its not out of the question. However given the fact that Hedo essentially runs the team on the court it doesnt make as much sense ..

Maggette is not playing as well as Hedo and has come off the bench more recently...why not stick him there?

and would a starting lineup of...

PG Nelson
SG Maggette
SF Turkoglu
PF Lewis
C Howard

...be the worst thing in the world?

I am not too sure it would work as far as shots and chemistry go. It would probably need to be split up in to different groups. However, like it was said before...an offseason of Thomas and Maggette would likely put us up at the top. We would just need a PG...

Kurt Thomas would be a decent addition, he's surely better than Battie so arguably could be slotted into the SL if we wanted / needed toughness etc..

Andre Miller
Corey Magette
Hedo Turkoglu
Rashard Lewis
Dwight Howard

Drafted PG
Keyon Dooling
Maurice Evans
Tony Battie
Kurt Thomas

I know it's not going to happen but sending out Jameer+Redick+Bogans+Vasquez +2010 1st rounder(or something like that) would be incredibly awesome

Perhaps it's just me but I'm not a big Andre Miller fan. He is pretty good and better than Jameer right now but if we were to trade all that for someone I'd at least like to get a PG of the same calibur as Calderon out of the deal. Imagine if we could somehow pry Conley away from the Memphis. As far as a big...with Battie coming back what do we need? If Fran does indeed come over then we might not need another big. If he doesn't come over or he does and busts then what about Gortat. How is he progressing? Either way you look at it we do have some options depending on the circumstances. There are way too many variables to deal with right now. If we have a solid showing in the playoffs then I believe we'll have plenty of vet FAs calling us wanting a spot on the team for next year.

Obviously it would take more than JJ and a late first rounder, but there's always sign and trade scenario's, especially with Dooling and Arroyo being FA's.

But why would they let Calderon go? I could see it if it were for an offer they absolutely could not refuse....but that is no where close...and there isn't one that our management would offer. (I would)

What? Miller is stronger, faster, better play-maker and a better leader than BOTH Calderon and Conley.
