Jose Calderon vs TJ Ford (No Raptor Fans)

Post#1 » by kleatius_01 » Fri Mar 28, 2008 1:52 pm

Just wanted to get some outsider perspective on the PG position for the Raptors. The media here has recently been pushing for a trade, and it does seem a little unrealistic to continue with two starting quality guards.

Let me call upon all the times I've seen the Raptors play this season because I"m not a Raptor fan...

hmmmnnnnn

okay after 3 games I'd say it's a virtual tie but Mike Gorhman likes Calderon better.

But I say you're already paying TJ, trade Calds for some kind of real Center or something. Someone like Horford would be perfect [although untouchable right now] a motivated Chandler would be good too (like he has been in NO)

TOR needs to consolidate the talent they have.

[Isn't Ukic going to be a decent back-up PG? So you already have a replacement under contract.]

I'd probably trade TJ, but they really should trade one of them because they need to make some kind of move.

depends on how much calderon wants this summer. if calderon wants 10 million i would send him packing. both are good point guards but neither of them is that much better than the other to reflect much difference in their impact on the wins or success of the raptors. THe only setback is tj fords injury past but then again will you get equal value if you shop him. It really depends on what your options are on the trade marke with calderon and ford.

Calderon's better right now, and so far always has been IMO.
Ford has more potential, but his health is a concern.

I'd rather have Calderon

Calderon, i think hes more of a pure PG which is always better + less health concerns.

Calderon, better shooter and more efficient plus he isn't as injury prone

I think Ford has a definite chance of becoming the better player. I've seen his jumper evolve tremendously over the years, and have no doubt it would be even further along had he not had some unfortunate injuries. Those injuries, however, are an important factor.

Calderon is clearly the better player at this moment, at least to me.

I'd choose Calderon. But I've always been the kind of guy who'd prefer the sure thing over the risk.
