Well i don't see any better solution for the Team out there right now, so i'm fine with it .
He's not a bad coach for the rebuild and the young guys. He'll give everyone a solid chance and when you response you'll get solid PT and have some freedom on the court .
He's made mistakes and was way to reliant on Kidd but I'm willing to give him a chance to see what he can to without Kidd next year . Cheeks also survived last year and has done a pretty good job this year .
Firing the coach isn't allways the solution .

Co-signed. I think when you stop and think about it, it's not like young players haven't developed under Frank.
Antoine Wright made significant strides this year, Marcus Williams has made significant strides, Boone has made significant strides...
Now Frank doesn't deserve all the credit for their improvement but looking back rookies under Frank usually undergo a rough time but after that they seem to be all right.
Now I still question some of Frank's substitution patterns, and there are some other things I can nitpick with as well but I don't think the coach has been this team's biggest problem.

If you guys think this team will get anywhere next season with the same garbage coaching, god awful substitutions, preparation, lack of adjustments, and play calling among other things, fine, but when wondering why next year's Nets are repeating the same cycle that has gone one for 2 seasons now, remember that you endorsed rod thorn's foolish mistake of giving this man another season before you try and toss blame on the players.

doesnt let the young guys play through their mistakes.. this team needs a change
Thats BS he played them almost the whole season . Right now where he needs 100% reliable production thats just not possible if he wants to win.
While some of his substitution are questionable and his half court sets some times aren't that great this is just not right.
Look how much young players play in other teams and then tell me again he's not playing them.

i didnt say he doesnt let them play, I said he doesnt let them play through their mistakes. Theres a difference. If theyre doing well he'll leave them in but a lot of times the first time one of the young guys makes a mistake their pulled right out of the game.. Sean Williams makes a mistake and hes out, Marcus Williams makes a bad pass and hes pulled out, Ager doesnt play at all(he sucks though so he doesnt count) .

Look he played the young guys through mistakes earlier this season and they mostly responded good but he can't do that all season when the team still has something to play for .
When you want to win games you can't have a rookie out there that single handedly puts them over the limit or a Soph that turnes the ball over regularly . They'll get their opportunity but they have to play good to expand them , don't see anything wrong about that. They need some pressure to develop , it's not like they're rotting on the bench with no light at the end of the tunnel
Ager most likely will get some time next year if he's still here then but you can't play a new guy that basically never played good minutes and hasn't shown much in his limited time if you want to win.

I would take preparation out of that list...but I hear ya...
I've always been a fan who looks at things as players play and coaches coach...but with certain in game situations, play calling and substitutions, I have cringed at Frank's decisions...
However, Thorn's statement is no shocker to me...what else is he going to say...
I still feel Thorn is interested in seeing Frank get a full season with this new team next year...
In all honesty, I have been on the fence with this debate...on the negative side there has been overkill...but thats usually the way it works...
Ultimately, if a team is still playing hard for a coach and buying into the system, you have to feel he's still in control...
and right now I still do not see the Nets bailing on their coach...there's been moments where I've wondered, but I think that had more to do with the Kidd situation...
we'll just have to wait and see...Pros and Cons across the board, I understand where everyone is coming from...
Just keep in mind its the team that scores the most points/allows the least amount of points scored during a game that wins...as much as you would like to throw it all on a coach's shoulders and as elementary as it sounds, players do have to produce on the court for any team to win....

It's important not to lose sight of the Nets' financial situation when talking about firing frank, waiving a player, signing a player, or even making a trade.

Reading that report for example, if the Nets' new Arena is going to cost nearly $950 million instead of $637 million well... It just doesn't make sense finacially for the Nets to fire Frank who is on the hook for something like $8.6 million over the next two years...

There is an old saying over here in the merry old land of Oz. (it may be world wide i'm not sure) As soon as management in an Aussie Rules club says the coach is safe, The coach of that club starts to sweat a little and looks at the job classifieds that day! you can be sure he is gone in about 6 weeks.
With Frank STAY TUNED!!!!!

Can Frank coach the kids?

Agreed Jac, i'm not absolving the players from any of the mess that has gone on this year, i just think the system and Frank's coaching is garbage and to fully maximize this core that we have I think a change is needed.
There have been some disgraceful efforts this season from the players, but something has to give. Some of the decision making Frank has done has cost this team a lot this season and it will continue as long as this guy is running things.
