Kevin Pritchard and I....

Post#1 » by Dutchv » Sat Mar 29, 2008 12:23 am

we think the same way. Look at my posts from the past, and hell you could make a significant claim that I AM KP. (Okay I went a lil' overboard with that one)

Anyways, the point of this post is this: DO NOT be surprised if KP gets either Rose or Love or trades the pick if he can't land one of those 2.

Save this post in your favorites and pull it up the day after the draft. My intuition is that strong.

There's a big difference between Rose and Love. Rose is a Top 3 pick, Love is an end-of-the-lotto pick. You're basically just 'hedging your bets' with those two predictions (actually, 3 when you added that KP may also trade the pick).

That's like saying, I predict it's going to rain or be sunny tomorrow. If it's none of those two, it'll just be gray and cold.

BTW, do you have any quotes of these miraculous predictions you've made in the past? With Links if you could...

Do you think the following could get the #2 pick??

#13 pick & two 2nd rounders.
Outlaw
Jack
Frye

I dont think it is, so I have no idea how we can get Rose.

If we cant trade up or get Hinrich/Calderon/Harris, I'll be OK with these moves:

Draft Love, trade Frye, Jack and lowest 2nd round pick to Miami for Banks and a future 1st round pick (well protected).
Draft Sam Young and an international prospect at the 2nd round.

Sign Rudy and it's a complete roster. If Miles wont retire, I'd rather keep Young as a 3rd string SF than resigning Jones.

Basically we'll play the same lineup + Oden. Rudy off the bench should form the new 3 guards rotation, Sergio and Banks would duke it out for some minutes at backup PG. Love gets his few minutes at PF when LMA is playing center, to add a rebounding presence. If he's proving himself to be worthy of a backup PF role, Outlaw or Webster become expendable in trades for PG/SF.

You don't even have your own opinion?!? You are taking what a mock draft in MARCH is telling you!! LOL, give me a break Spykes. Want to make a friendly (say $100) bet that Love goes in the first 8 picks? Personally I think he will be top 6, but for betting sake I'll go with top 8.

You obviously read what I posted correctly, so is it comprehension that you have problems with Spykes? How is your comparison even remotely close? Wait no need to answer that, logic says that you are comparing apples to oranges. Out of every player that may declare for the draft I am throwing out the prediction that if KP can't get ONE of the TWO players I mentioned, he WILL TRADE IT.

KP has been very unpredictable and has proved that anything can go down draft day. With all the good prospects in this years draft, me dwindling HIS choices down to 2 players (and not settling for anything less) would be pretty significant.

P.M me if you need a slower more detailed explanation of how your comparison sounded ridiculously (Please Use More Appropriate Word).

BTW, do you have any quotes of these miraculous predictions you've made in the past? With Links if you could...

Go ahead and look them up yourself. I don't have time for that ****. You obviously have much more time to be in this forum than I... I post a few times a month average. You? A few hundred? Look it up yourself.

I'll tell ya this. 2 years ago I said KP would figure out a way to get Roy and a PF/C. (I thought it would be Hawes or Thomas, but he did better than I thought and got LMA)

Last year I said that he wouldn't be happy with just drafting Oden on draft night. I also said Z-Bo would be gone within a week of the draft because KP gets trigger happy for assets around that time. (same as us on RealGM haha!)

LOL @ AKBlazerFans stupidity. Sir get off the mods nuts please. You can't really be that stupid can you?

There are THOUSANDS of possibilities. KP proved that he can and will do anything on draft day. Use your **** brain before you speak. All you are doing is agreeing that there are only 2 prospects that KP thinks are worth drafting.

I can't stand people who don't have any common sense.

How is that an opinion?

They are saying that I exhausted most of the possibilities that KP has for this draft. That is an ignorant comment/thought and it's my responsibility to point that out to them.

Go ahead and read my history of posts. I rarely attack people but at times I do lose patience with people posting (Please Use More Appropriate Word) responses that lack logic. Especially when those posters that lack common sense are replying to my thread.

All they have to do is put this thread in favorites until draft day. Then attack if I am wrong. If I am right.... well maybe people will start wondering who I work for. *laughs* In the mean time however, use logic if you are going to post.

Enough with the personal attacks, Dutch. Just because you disagree with someone doesn't give you the right in this forum to call them stupid and be abusive.

Ok, maybe i shouldnt have tagged onto him (being mod had nothing to do with it, he was just 1st to say it). The way i said it was confusing, and it made it sound like i agreed with you. I most defintely do not. I should have posted this the 1st time but i was too lazy and didnt realize you were an ****.

1st off, if you are going to make such a claim, it wouldnt be a bad idea to copy/paste or give us links yourself.

2nd, there is no chance we get Rose. Put this in your favorites so you can look it up on draft night. We dont have what it takes to get into the top 2 picks wihtout the Big 3.

3rd. Love??? Why Love? Care to explain?

My guess is: KP will trade into top 5, or trade the pick all together. He even publicly stated "were not trying to get younger this off season.

I mean, rather than blindly guessing why dont you explain how we are going to do it. It would make you at least not sound like an idiot.

**And for the record, everyone knew Randolph would be gone, and most (including myself) figured KP would go **** on the draft like the year before. I hope these arent your 2 of your best predictions...If you really said that we would get Roy/ F-C then i will admit that was a nice one, but you will have to prove that one for me to believe it....

If you think alike, then please explain your reasons for wanting to draft Love. And what you think could be traded to get Rose.

Yeah, both Rose and Love are unlikely at this point. We'd probably have to move up to get Rose. Why would we even want Love? Where does he play? And it becomes even more unlikely if, as one poster suggested, he goes in the top six. I can't imagine the Blazers moving up to get him.

I think if we picked Love, he would be the complimentary player
to go with Oden and LA, giving us another rebounder and passer.
Love's having a big tournament so he will end up going 8 or 9
so perhaps someone like Batum might slip to 13 where we could
possibly think about stashing him overseas for more seasoning.

I would love a front court rotation of Oden, LMA, Pryz, Love. But would try to use the pick to get a starter PG first. If that didn't work then I would draft Love if he were available.

I think it is hilarious inept and wrong to pick a BENCH, FRINGE PLAYER with our lotto pick. Kevin Love is NOT that and will be gone if he declares.

The EFF would we pick Love over Augustine, Lawson, Collison, sooooo many others..

You've really shown your true colors here Dutch, and that's too bad, because I used to regard you as a pretty good poster. Not someone with with a huge ego and a short fuse who can't handle being even slightly questioned about something.

I read your post perfectly fine. You said that KP will try to get 1 of either Rose or Love and if he can't do that, he'll trade the pick. That's 3 different scenarios giving you 3 different shots to be correct about something. Love (who I fully expect to be available in the late lotto range, which is MY OPINION btw, and no I'm not going to bet you $100 on such a silly/pointless argument because, unlike you, I really don't care if I'm wrong on that  ) won't take a lot of maneuvering to get, Rose will be next to impossible unless Portland gets a Top 3 pick and then Portland moving out of the draft is something that has been discussed ad nauseam around here, that isn't some amazing new idea.

Go ahead and look them up yourself. I don't have time for that ****. You obviously have much more time to be in this forum than I... I post a few times a month average. You? A few hundred? Look it up yourself.

If you're gonna make the grand proclamations about yourself, you need to be willing to back it up. I'm not gonna to your work for you.

Last year I said that he wouldn't be happy with just drafting Oden on draft night. I also said Z-Bo would be gone within a week of the draft because KP gets trigger happy for assets around that time. (same as us on RealGM haha!)

How is this at all shocking that you "predicted" this would happen? Nearly everyone thought/knew KP was going to be active on draft night and that ZBo was going to be the main asset he'd look to move.

Go ahead and read my history of posts. I rarely attack people but at times I do lose patience with people posting (Please Use More Appropriate Word) responses that lack logic. Especially when those posters that lack common sense are replying to my thread.

I can lose my patience at times too. I especially lose my patience for egotistical posters who think they're more important than other because they made some correct semi-vague predictions. I also lose my patience for posters who then go ahead and attack/insult people over their opinions, which is easily in violation of RealGM's Code of Conduct.

Ease up on the caffeine next time Dutch.

Thread locked.
