Dsong with the two big buckets late in the 4th. I love me the lumbering half reverse lay up :)

DSong, but this was everyone's game. DeShawn, Caron, and Antawn all had their hands in the cookie jar tonight.

gotta go with Darius. He came up huge in the 4th.

for closing out the 4th quarter- Mason should get some votes, DeShawn should get some votes, and Darius should get some votes. Those 3 single handedly (i guess triple handedly, if you think about it) won this game for us.

also some props to EJ for putting Darius in the game for Wood for those last few minutes when Brendan couldn't finish down low.

#1 - DS2 for 8 consecutive points carrying the Wiz for a stretch in the 4th. Not to mention that he toughed it out and came back after rolling his ankle on Kevin Martin's foot in the 1st. An ankle roll that would've sidelined lesser people (looking at you Kwame) for a year.

#2 - DS9 for giving EJ exactly what he wanted from the C position tonight. Amazing his transformation from outhouse to penthouse this season, at least from my POV (not EJ's).

#3 - AJ with the consistent stat line that we've come to expect. Amazing nonetheless.

This one may be too tough to choose. DeShawn gets honorable mention b/c of the ankle sprain, but he must have drank some tough juice before the game and toughed it out...it looked narley on tv.

I'm gonna do a 3 way tie Caronimo -El Capitawn - DeShawn

I always complain when EJ makes that sub, but that was the difference in the game.

Darius was awesome. He's been real good his past several games, but was extremely efficient and looked to score every time he got the ball.

Props to EJ for the move.

I couldn't watch the game so I'm going by the box score. I was gonna vote for Jamison because he had the best overall stat line of the night. (25 points with an eFG% of 59% is nothing to sneeze at.) But then I looked at Songaila's stat line. The guy had 17 points and 5 boards in just 19 minutes. To put the numbers in perspective, had he maintained that pace for the 43 minutes that Jamison played, he would have had 39 points and 11 boards on 75% shooting!

1. Songaila
2. Jamison
3. Stevenson

I've been tough on DSong throughout his tenure here, but he's starting to make a believer out of me. That's some good production. Not just good shooting - but he got to the foul line.

Like I said last game POTG thread it's getting real hard to pick a player of the game in our wins because they are team wins.

DSONG for most improved player of the year may need to be considered.

It's hard to believe this is the same guy. He is cutting for layups with efficiency and he is starting to hit some from outside. Plus he is giving us some added muscle in the post. I love when we get post points because I truly believe it chances the whole game. He has just been so solid. He and Mason are getting us over the top. We needed a couple extra options. One inside. One outside. We got it. If this is the Songaila we really have, he will be a nice piece coming off the bench for years. He can be our Noseboloena type player.

As for the what we are missing thread, what I said there was we are missing another quick player and another strong post player.

Enter Gilbert and Etan. OP will be made inactive.

I still like our chances this year once healthy. Two back from CLE for 4th.

The biggest problem we have right now is that, as solid as AD is at PG, the combo of him, DS and AJ just doesn't give us enough quicks against athletic quick teams. I was actually kind of excited to see NY in when DS went down. Not because I don't like DS but because we need more quicks out of those 3 positions.

Till GA returns we don't have another PG option so AD stays in and AJ isnt going anywhere. So one nights against quick team we needed to see more Mason and NY at the 2 or some more BH, AB, AJ, CB, AD. That makes us bigger and quicker in the post with AB being quicker and taller then AJ and CB everything you get from DS but bigger and quicker.

I sure hope DS always starting doesn't have anything to do with his streak.

Glad we won. It wasn't pretty at times but I never got to high or to low when we went down. I just let the game play out and enjoyed it.

I may make the CB dunk my wall paper. That was sick. Looks like he is starting to feel better. Consider this, he still isn't 100% but he looks like he is getting there. Drops some 3s. Monster Dunk. Break away steals.

I'm the other way around, I gave a sympathy vote to DSong only to see it turn into a runaway win for him. But caron sparked the team and even fed DSong for a couple of the dunks, fed Tawn for the alley oop, etc, got the steals for dunks at critical times to stem Kings runs. His all 'round game kept the team active and hustling. If I could take back my DSong vote and give it to Caron I'd do it.

This might be the toughest decision of the season for POTG.

You could make a very legitimate case for any of the following....

Jamison (best overall statline)
Songaila (best per-minute statline)
Stevenson ( 8 straight points)
Butler (changed tone of the game with good statline and great dunk)

I'm going to hold off on voting today. One of the few times I'm going with the line "team win".

Voted for DS cuz he hit a couple 3's in a row to break the game open in the 4th and give us the cushion we needed. He was also solid on Martin.

Same here. I thought his back to back threes were extremely crucial. He got the crowd out of the game and killed the Kings momentum.
