Well you have to look at guys that were similar to Yao in size. And those 'giants' have all had short careers due to injuries. And I wouldn't be surprised if Yao wouldn't last long.

Infact I don't understand the love that those giants have gotten. Granted, Yao is by far the best of them. But I'd take an athletic 7 footer over them anyday. I think that they last longer and are even better suited to play basketball. I think that guys that are 7"6 have trouble playing this sport. It's not easy at all for them.


This is a good point. People as big as Yao, inevitably end up with joint problems. At 27 Yao may have only have a couple more years than Ray left.

Yep, the only problem is that Artest doesn't shoot as well as Ray and might not complement Paul as well. But Yao would be an upgrade over Perk if he stays healthy.
