I don't think Leon get enough credit for his talents. yeah he is lunchpale guy. Also he can rebound, pass, score from 15' in. He can play D on bigger guys also. I like him. If the kid was 4" taller he would taking all of Perkins minutes.

OK, I have admit I'm partial to a player that gets offensive rebounds. It has great psychological value as it disheartens the other team. Furthermore, it gives our other four players a chance to get back on defense, while the opposing team wastes time preventing the offensive rebound.

The Celtics early era great teams had a guy who could and would get the offensive rebounds. Satch Sanders, Don Nelson and Max all fit the bill. Think of how disheartening it must be. Somehow you stop Pierce, Garnet and Allen and this nobody gets the miss and puts it back in.

Anyways, I see Powe already filling that role.

Powe dominated West last night. We can make excuses for West. It was a road game, he was tired and the Jazz aren't as deep as the Celtics.

Nonetheless, Powe dominated West last night. I rest my case on Powe being a top ten selection from his draft class.

The big thing with Powe is that his shooting effeciency is way up and his turnovers are WAY WAY down from last year.

I am also glad to see him perform well when he gets his run. At the start of the season, I hoped he would grow into the back up role, which he is doing nicely.

I do agree with BFB, however, that in order for Powe to make a bigger impact, he must continue to work on his 17-19 foot jumper. I remember in college, he used to catch the ball around the free throw line and penetrate (explode really) right past the defender guarding his jumper and throw through some major jams...it looked like an NBA move. He needs to develop the same style of attack, just with slightly more range.

(fake edit: That was the same move that he missed the jam late in the forth quarter when Tommy said, he missed the jam, but that was a good move anyway).

Powe is definitely a guy I root for to get his "big contract", and I hope we are the ones who reward him.

Call me a homer, but I'd rather Leon Powe over Bargnani

..I would expect that efficiency to level off a bit if/when he starts opening up his offense...right now he's 99 percent pick-and-roll for his offense and uses it to get to the line...once he starts using pick-and-pop and face-up ISO he's going to be taking some lower percentage shots...but I do believe he'll always convert at a high percentage relative to the shots he's taking...

Looking at what David West looked like coming out of Xavier, I see no reason why Powe can't develop his face up game and become a solid go-to option at the elbow or on the baseline...another full season of play and he'll be ready...if the team gives him an extention expect a big year that first year of the new deal, when his 3 season's with Cliff Ray will have yielded solid go-to moves for him to set up his offensive game...
