Our season is officially over!

We ran right through all the good teams, at home or on the road, and have made a huge statement. At 57-15 with 10 games left, what else is there to accomplish? Nothing.

The only team above .500 we're facing until the end of the season is Washington on April 9, and ESPN honored it by exposing it to national coverage.

At this point, we can really start to experiment and get Cassell and Brown into rhythm for the playoffs. Wins don't mean as much as before right now, it's all about the playoffs now.

All the next games are easily winnable, and it isn't even a reach to say we'll go 10-0. The only thing I want to focus on, however, is beating Detroit's best season of 64-18. 8 wins to go.

I dont want us to experiment too much. I want Doc to establish his playoff rotation going into the homestretch. I hate when teams experiment to much to end the season. Then play sloppy going into the playoffs. I want us to be a well oiled machine to start the playoffs.

im not with you that the season is over. we have ten games left, and we need to work pj and sam in. thats very important. we cant just mail it in, regardless of caliber of opponents

Nah I agree with you the season's over. WAS is the only opponent in the next 10 games that is a possible statement game after beatening us 2 times in a row.

Like someone else said, Doc has decided not to rest his starting 5... but they decided to rest themselfs on the court. At least it seemed that way in Philly when on multiple occasions would get a steal and Rondo would notice KG,Pierce,Ray walking up the court.

This is a nice little breather to get a full bench out there during longer stretches.. keep the Big 3 within the 30 mpg range and just have a tune up before the big race

they squeaked by and it made stepping up hard enough that they couldnt do it.

i dont think any coach would ever say its ok to feel like your season is over when you have ten games left. you play the schedule, and youre fully committed the whole time.

otherwise, you set yourself up for a potential fall. the pats preached the "60 minutes" mantra all season and barely kept to it late, and only a handful of players played that way in the super bowl, obviously a playoff series makes things different, but lightening up/taking it easy is not a path to success.

(and pats specific, i wouldnt say they were great in the playoffs at all. they set certain standards for what their level of great was early, and gradually tailed off from that so that each game was basically more of a struggle until they lost. 'they did great in the playoffs until the last one' does that make you feel good? does it make belichick feel good? if thats what happens to the Cs will they feel good?)

We need to stick with the same rotation and just give a little more rest to the starters. We can rest everyone when we sweep the Hawks.

The only think that can derail our season at this point is an injury to one of our top 6.

About as with you as when you said the team wasn't a championship contender. :lol:

Integrating them is fine, but 'experimenting' isn't worth the likely expense of their own routine, momentum and continuity. Why experiment with success? We all saw what happened when Doc just threw Sam into the mix without preparation, and for the most part it didn't work. If he can work him into the mix so the offense doesn't come to a screeching halt (practices will help) them I'm all for it. Otherwise, Doc shouldn't get real creative here ...

Didn't Dallas have that attitude last year? Look where it got them. The Celtics need to finish strong. 8-2 last 10 games.

dallas had that attitude, but they also weren't facing the hawks in the first round. golden state is also a team that this year would be almost a 3 seed in the east(even though they are a different team this year)

I hate this thinking. For me, this season won't be over until they play their final game, and I hope it is them winning the title. I have gone through 16 years of misery, and I am going to enjoy every moment I can.

I would say it is playoff preperation time. Our second unit needs time the next ten games to get their act together because they have been a big factor in the success of this team so far. As of late they have not looked good in trying to integrate Cassell and PJ into the scheme of things.

they mailed it in the last game of the season, lost to golden state, which with that win got golden state into the playoffs, and proceeded to lose in the first round

Confidence, momentum and fear.

We want the first two, and if we have it, the others team will have the third.

Teams need to come in fearing Keltic Nation, not thinking "They lost 7 of their last ten" or any crap like that.

Buzz saw time, step on their throats and dont let up.

I would play really hard the next couple games, then give the big 3 a week off, there bodies can do alot of recouperating in that time, not all at once, but over 5 games have each of the big 3 only play 2, Give perk and Rondo a game or 2 off as well, spend the last 4 games getting the big 3 back into a good rotation once they have a little wear and tear off
