Any reason to eye Ford?

Post#1 » by coolhandluke121 » Sat Mar 29, 2008 8:22 pm

If the Raptors gave him away just to get out of that contract - say Ford for Bobby Simmons, perhaps - would you do it?

If he would be a back-up I would do it, but I don't think he'd accept that. If they started Bell or Sessions at pg they could get some extra minutes for Ford because both those guys are big enough to guard sg's, but would he still pout?

In a perfect world I could see him spearheading a high-scoring, up-tempo bench unit while the starting line-up is built around Bogut. Ford, Dez, Yi, and Gadz plus one starter would be a fun line-up to watch.

Well if it only took Simmons for Ford I would do it. Cause then we could still deal MO for like a Haslem or something.

I would do it but why would anyone want Simmons? The only way a team would take Simmons is if they could get rid of an even worse contract.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

supposedly ford off the bench didn't go well at all so i don't think that would be an option and i don't think he's anywhere near the long term answer at the point so i just don't think it's a good idea.

if we wanted to take a chance with hiim as a backup if it just took bobby i guess it could be worth a shot.

I know this team needs another selfish, no defense, locker room cancer. But, can we make sure that the guy we get is one fall from retirement, has a drug history, and a fat long term deal?

Cool.

Exactly. When I said I would do it I meant a three way, getting an expiring contract back for Simmons. I certainly don't want Ford back.

1) Simmons wouldn't do it.

2) Ford would never come off the bench. And I'm not even sure that he should have to on this team.

3) Ford is too much of a risk, too long of a deal with him being a fall away from retirement.

4) It just wouldn't happen, just doesn't seem like we would want him back, or that he would want to come back.

5) If we get another PG that can't play defense, I'm not sure what I would do. I'd be very, very emotionally unhappy though.

If we want everyone on this board to be dead then sure. Half the board would have heart attacks from their hard on. The other half would have a stroke from watching ME J take another shot.

RIP Bucks board if he comes back here.

I loved the way Ford played under Terry Porter but since than I dont care for his game at all. Simmons for Ford would be a trade that I would do but hopefully it would be part of a 3 or 4 way deal where we wound up with neither of them.

Stop looking into teams past for solutions. Bringing back Dez has worked out so well..

No reason until he gets his head out of his ***, which doesn't look like it'll happen anytime soon.

I'd trade simmons or gadz for him but thats about it.

And I doubt the raptors are desperate enought to dump ford to take either of them back.

If you bring TJ back you have to get rid of Redd, Simmons and Williams.

I know from a source who knows a little about the situation, they were the ones who got the ear of the front office and made it clear that TJ needed to go.
He simply didn't complement their dribble, dribble, dribble shoot or turnover style of play.
It was his fault they were not able to heave up more shots per game.

Absolutely!

And Ford is not a backup son! Ford would be the second best player on this team if he was here...

Bogut and then Ford.

He is no backup! Read this: NO ONE WHO WINS IS A "BACK-UP" ON THIS TEAM! Use your head...

Lets get that squared away right not and stop the losing Milwaukee losing mentality kool-aid.

Lets Get that straight right now! VALUE WINNERS people! What the hell are you talking about!?

No one on this teams wins....FORD WINS and gets paid! Nothing more to be said...

That is earning your loot on a team scale. Stop looking individually for value and collectively and with team success in mind!

Ford=Playoffs
NO Ford= No playoffs...

That simple....

Fixed. Ford doesn't make us a playoff contender MBBOT. You're such a fool.
