Redd For Ben Wallace?

Post#1 » by heynow » Sun Mar 30, 2008 2:54 am

Are Bucks really serious about trade.
For example would you trade Redd for Ben Wallace?

Would you trade a scorer for a rebounder and defender?
I don't think Wallace is done he just needs to be a front line and team that knows how to exploit his skills.

He still plays hard, so the he got his money and now he doesn't care simply doesn't fit.

Ben Wallace sucks worse than Redd. Why the **** would we want him?

At least he's not swearing up a storm like Johnny Newman or w/e his name is.

As for this trade, Wallace's contract is a ton worse than Redd's is because Wallace is garbage at this point in his career. A big resounding NO.

Wallace is washed up, so unless the Bucks just want to do Redd a favor by sending him to Cleveland (I don't see why they would feel they owe him anything, having given him an undeserved max deal), I don't see that happening.

Wallace?????? Are you serious? Yes we covet a washed up 33 year old who's rebounds and blocks have decreased every year for the last 5 years. Come on.

My question was more about the type of player you would trade Redd for then the player.

I doubt first of all that the Cavs and Bucks will ever trade players because of the fact they are in the same division. SO whether this guy sucks or that guy sucks is not the point of my post.

My question is would you trade an exciting fun to watch scoring 2G for a bruising 4 or 5 whose only duties would be post D and rebounding. On this team a player like that would have immense value.

A few years ago I argued that the Bucks should make a run at Tyson Chandler when he was a FA because you could see even when he was in Chicago that he had the ability to be a great defender and rebounder. The problem was that at no point was he going to develop into more then someone who can dunk the ball on offense. Bucks fans (and BB fans in general) hate those types of players. I used Wallace because in Detroit he was the prototype for a winning ugly type player.

There are guys like that out there right now who are offensively not pleasing to the eye.

Redd does not suck. He simply a player who has some parts of his game that are wonderful and other that are lacking.
He is a premium scorer but he is not a premier player.

Maybe 4 seasons ago this deal would of been sweet. But Wallace is like Shaq. He's close to hanging it up.

How did Wallace get onto the Cavs in the first place?

No. This team does need a shake up. I'd trade Redd because he is the best player we have, for a solid PG. We bailed on not getting Chris Paul. Bogut is ok. Not worthy of #1 pick though. Chris Paul was. It's easy to say that now 3 years later. However, We need a PG. New Coach and GM. The GM selection will be very important one. Coach K for all intense of purposes is gone in my opinion. The Bucks will wait until lthe season is over to announce the hiring I imagine. This team needs a face lift.

If I'm dealing with the Cavs I'd send Redd and Bell to the Cavs for Wally Szcerbiaks expiring deal and Anderson Varejao to back up Yi and Bogut.

Then you have mo and CV to dangle for either a small forward or pg and you can use the draft to cover the other spot. Or maybe hope to land josh childress for the midlevel.
