I think Boobie Gibson is the best comparison I've heard.

Yeah, put him on a team like the Lakers or Cleveland where the PG is really a glorified SG and he'll do fine.

He might also work well in Philly or Dallas alongside a big PG who can defend opposing SG's.

Agreed that Curry can play the point. He may always be better suited for the combo guard role just because he's such a great scorer, but he's got not just good, but great court vision.

That would be the difference between his stock this year and next. Next year he would be playing PG a ton more if not exclusively, and NBA teams won't have doubts about him being able to run a team.

I'd say a less-athletic Ben Gordon with a better shot is the most accurate comparison you could make. Their both pretty good ball handlers, move well without the ball, and can create. Neither will ever be a pass-first, traditional PG. Curry is still so scary in that he can catch fire ala Eddie House.

With that said, he should stay in college or train like crazy in the summer to bulk up, because he'll get abused in the NBA. Ben Gordon is an absolute tank, so he can take the beating a smaller guy takes on and off the ball.

For someone that scores as much as he does, he is actually unselfish and sets up his teammates pretty well. His assist numbers would look a lot better if his teammates could make the open shots he gives them. I think he could run the point a bit, but I just don't see why you would. His best skill is moving without the ball and putting the ball in the basket. Of course, ideally you want to pair him with a tall point guard that could guard the opposing 2.

I tell ya, I know that they key'ed on Curry, but I was really amazed at how many poor decisions Curry made. Curry certainly has a shot at being a solid role player, but I wouldn't want to bank on more than that.

He's been keyed on extensively all tournament and made great decisions, as he has done in the regular season, where he's also been keyed on, as he accounts for 33% of Davidson's scoring himself. One poor performance down the stretch doesn't undo the past two years. I think you're reading way too much into a single game, or more accurately, five minutes of a single game.

I could see him playing the point on a team with a SG that is the primary playmaker in the half court (e.g. Kobe, Roy, Wade, Tmac, or even a great playmaking SF like LeBron). Without another playmaker in the backcourt, however, it's hard to see him as a starter in the NBA. Should be a solid scorer off the bench though.

Entirely possible. Let's keep in mind though that for the majority of the two years of which you speak, he wasn't the talk of college basketball. His stock has gone up as a result of the last couple of weeks, and so I don't think it's unfair to throw in some skepticism when his performance leaves some room to be desired.
