He's certainly disproving any detractors right now... but I still think Beasley will be picked first.

He's schooling Augustin - so far - but I'd still take Beasley and even Lopez ahead of Rose.

depends whose picking # 1. If Minny gets #1, then they definitely take Rose since they have Jefferson. If Memphis gets #1, I think they would be better off with Beasley, same with Miami

Since the Tennessee game he has just taken it up another level.

Unlike Beasley, Rose can physically dominate his position in the league.

Beasley will be the best rookie, but he doesn't have the upside of Derrick Rose.

Do you folks realize how much he is improving right now?

10 games in, he was probably the 5th option. He was turnover prone, had very few ways to get to the basket, and really pressing against defenders that knew how to exploit his weaknesses.

Now, he has the supposed #1 PG in the country practically in tears.

He is dominating every facet of this tournament - he's developed a floater, is an absolute lock-down defender, is showing immaculate court vision...

He's everything he was cracked up to be, it just took a bit longer than everybody thought it would.

What a prospect...what a prospect...

I do have to say he's playing at an extremely high level, far and away the best performance as a guard all year long. But it's hard to put him ahead of Beasley's excellence for the whole year.

I just don't see Beasley ever becoming a superstar. Rose, I can see.

Too bad Texas wasn't more competitive in the 2nd half. Rose has basically reverted back to what he was so prone to all season long of being a bit passive in the half court. You can't really blame him of course b/c of the score.

Putting way too much stock in a good tournament performance. MB was the best player in the country all year. Rose and Beasley both have tremendous upside, but now everyone is on Rose's jock just because of seeing him in the tournament.

Kinda like people think Stephen Curry is a first round pick now just because of the last 3 games.

Right, because PG's are more import than Bigmen?
When is the last time a PG has lead his team to a championship.
Magic Johnson and Isiah in the 80's??
Teams emphasize bigs more than PG's. Rose will go #2

Thats what i really love about rose. The guy takes what you give him. The guy can play under control but if you let him he can go crazy.

Are you an idiot?
Chauncey Billups an Tony Parker. That's two times in the last 4 years.
When's the last time a 3/4 tweener got drafted number one overall or even took a team to the championship? Kind of odd to think about isn't it? Since it completely deflates your own argument.

Yea Tony Parker and Chaucey Billups?
Do you think they would won it with Tim Duncan or the Wallace Boys who were the real MVP's of both those series.

Look the reason we think rose will be #1 has as much to do with beasley as rose. nooone really believes that beasely is going to do what it takes to win on the pro level despite his immense talent. Fortunately for him until rose took a major leap noone was in position to give the team with the #1 pick an out from taking rose. To me a question should be is beasley going to be 2 either b/c I think teams might take a pass on him there perhaps for Love.

There's no one in this draft that's capable of leading a team to a championship from this draft. Doesn't mean you don't take a certain player. Otherwise, with the exception of DWade, every team would've forfeited their pick in the draft ever since Duncan got drafted.
