Is it possible that there are nine 50 win teams in the West?
Team records right now
Spurs 50-23
Hornets 49-22
Lakers 49-24
Suns 49-24
Houston 49-23
Utah 48-25
Dallas 45-27
Denver 45-28
Warriors 44-28
I think we can say the top 6 teams will get to 50. Can Dallas, Denver and GS get to 50 is the question.
Dallas has 10 games to get 5 wins.
@ GS Loss
@ Clips Win
vs GS Tossup game
@ LAL Tossup game depending on Lakers injuries/Dirk coming back
@ Phx Loss
vs Sea Win
vs Utah Loss
@ Por Win
@ Sea Win
vs NO Tossup game. Might need to win just to get in. More incentive for Dallas than Hornets
Golden State 10 games to get 6 wins
vs Dallas Win
@ SA Loss
@ Dallas Tossup game/Depends on Dirk
@ Mem Win
@ NO Loss
vs Sac Win
vs Den Win
vs LAC Win
@ Pho Loss
vs Sea Win
Denver has 9 games to get 5 wins
@ Phx Loss
vs Phx Win
vs Sac Win
@ Sea Win
@ LAC Win
@ GS Loss
@ Utah Loss
vs Hou Win
vs Mem Win
To me it looks like it's going to come down between Dallas and Golden State. Those 2 games between Dallas/GS are going to be huge on who gets in the playoff's. Dirk needs to come back this week for Dallas to have any chance.
I think there will be a team that wins 50 games and doesn't make the playoff's and I think it will be Dallas......

First off, your responses to a question are true or false which doesn't actually make any sense.
Second, only the Nuggets are playing real above .500 ball right now and all three would have to to make it which is unlikely anyway.
A real complicating factor is that Dallas and GSW play eachother twice from here on out and don't have cupcake schedules beyond that. If one of them takes the series, you can put your money down that the other won't win 50 games this series, if they split than neither team is out of it but neither is particularly likely so I'd still say no.

You know you are contradicting yourself.
First you say that the Warriors only advantage was defending Dirk and now he's not playing tonight. Then you say Dallas has already beaten them twice....with Dirk.
Who worries about defending Kidd?
Anyway this is GS' last home game before they go out on the road for 4 straight road games against the Spurs, Mavs, Grizz and Hornets. This is a must win game for them.....

I don't think anyone outside Dallas is going to be picking the Mavs for this game. Dallas just hasn't been very good lately and the Warriors have.

No I'm not. Brandon Bass beat you. Brandon Bass could not be defended by Nelson. Brandon Bass is dressing tonight.G35 wrote:You know you are contradicting yourself.
Saying we beat you twice"....with Dirk" is your ASSumtion that that was what I was thinking, in which you are flat out WRONG!
And it's a must win for the Mavs as well. And we have beaten teams whose best inside guy were as good as Harrington or less since the Kidd trade. It was the teams with good inside presense that we lost to.G35 wrote:Anyway this is GS' last home game before they go out on the road for 4 straight road games against the Spurs, Mavs, Grizz and Hornets. Neither do I.
Dallas has 10 games to get 5 wins... without Dirk for at least some of them...
GS has 10 games to get 6 wins, and those two teams play each other twice, starting tonight.
Plus, Denver has 9 games to get 5 wins.
Somebody's going to miss out, and odds favour Dallas to miss out.

It's pretty reasonable to think the Mavs would loose to GS. It's not a ridiculous idea like your making it out to be. Last I checked you got beat by Denver who doesn't really have an inside presence either(I know your going to say Camby, but he's a 15-18 footer guy).

First off, I don't know why you are taking it personal because I don't have anything against the Mav's.
2nd I've never met Brandon Bass and he hasn't beaten me at anything.
I wasn't making any assumption about what you are saying. You said the advantage was that Dirk was out. Then you said they beat GS twice already. They did! With Dirk. You don't have to say anything. Thats the facts.

I still think they could get 50 wins though.
I'm not convinced we can get another win, much less the 5 or whatever to make it to 50.

Okay, so we lost. Brandon Bass and Josh Howard wasn't quite enough. But Dirk was not the reason why we lost...it was because we didn't have Devin Harris to keep Ellis to his 12 pt avg (he had 30/5/4 today). Once again...no copntradiction in my statement. Just because it don't click in your head, does not mean there was a contradiction.G35 wrote:2nd I've never met Brandon Bass and he hasn't beaten me at anything.

ive been saying all season long that the team that doesnt make it will be the team that gets hit with a costly injury at the wrong time and that will decide who makes it and who doesnt, right now it looks like im correct. Dirks injury came at the wrong time, when they werent playing there best ball, and now they are plumeting going 0-10 against teams with +.500 records.
Go Knicks!
