Most underrated Blazer / overrated Blazer / outlook
Most Underrated:
Brandon Roy - It seems odd to say the consensus best player on the team is underrated but I believe he is by far the most underrated by fans that post here. I believe that if not for Roy this Blazer team would be as bad as the 05/06 team. IMO all of this teams progress so far is wrapped up in one single player.
Most overrated:
Joel Przybilla - Normally an overrated player is some stat grabber on a losing team like Sidney Wicks and Geoff Petrie from the Blazers teams in the early 70's or Zach Randolph and Darius Miles from the 05/06 team. Joel doesn't get a lot of minutes or great stats but he is easily Blazers most overrated player. For some reason Mike Rice and his minion sidekick are on a crusade to buildup Joel's contributions far beyond his actual impact.
Outlook for the 08/09 season:
55 wins and a good showing in the playoffs

It will be tough to say no matter how much information we have.
This year we started the year with only 2 guys, Roy and Aldridge that were expected to be solid NBA starters. Roy exceeded expectations and had an all-star year and Aldridge met many people

How can one rate Sergio when hes
not played consistently. Young players
can not grow with out consistecy.. .
Three to five mins every other six
games for a young player does nothing
for him.. .So I cant put him down.. .

Underrated: Blake.
Overrated: Roy. Brandon's been the best blazer hands down, but I think he gets way too much credit for Portland's turnaround. More of the credit should go to Jones, Przybila, Blake, and the rest of the cast who have all had good seasons. He doesn't play with the most efficiency and he's still a subpar defender. I think the allstar selection was a bit of a reach. Still a great young player and essential to the team, especially because we lack people who can create shots.
Outlook: 47 wins

Underrated : LA
If not for Roy and Oden, we would be talking like he is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Then, he would be overrated.
Overrated : Outlaw
It seems that when trade scenarios are brought up, this guys gets entirely too much value. This is the same player that cannot pass the conditioning test every year and is not viewed as a better starter than Webster at SF. It was not an accident that he only commanded the meager contract he pulled down last offseason.
Prediction : I think this is highly dependant upon this offseason. While some have looked to next year, opportunity could present itself now. Add that we have a lotto pick and too many players, I know KP is going to be pressing to make a deal. 45 wins, but that could get higher.

underrated: Mike Rice. He actually knows the answers to all those trivia questions without cheating. His insights have a subliminal effect on blazer fans as well. He's not drunk either...mostly.
overrated: Paul Allen. rumor is money can't but happiness. I'll bet he has you guys fooled.
08/09 record: race to 50...blazers make it in last game

Overrated: Jack & Nate(surprise). The two go hand & hand almost. Who else gets as many minutes for such poor play & who makes that decision?
Underrated: Webster, Outlaw, Von Wafer. I wish Von Wafer got more playtime, but I guess he's going to be like Dikau and be an endless journeyman. I am a firm believer in Outlaw & Webster being solid prospects still, especially when paired with Oden holding down the center spot & if we get a proper PG & remove a certain SG who seems to be a blackhole. In fact, replace Jack with Rudy & then hone Webster & Outlaw over the summer with Oden down low. I think Blake could hold down the fort for starter PG & Sergio can inject some energy if he's used right, with Roy possibly taking over from time to time. Unless a real sweetheart deal comes along I would shy away from dishing Webby & Outlaw.
08/09: 8th seed at least. Not sure about wins.

Overrated: Nate. Goes without saying, imo.
Underrated: Blake. His good shooting and poise have won us a quite a few games this season. I don't think we get anywhere close to the wins we have now without his impact.
Next season: 50 wins, 6th seed.
I see this year as sort of an anomaly in the West. There are some good teams, but there are also some very, very bad teams (see: Clippers, Minny, and Sea). All of them will get better next year and keep the inflation on win totals low. 42-45 should be plenty for the eighth spot.
