Monta Ellis The Best Finisher Around the Rim?

Post#1 » by Patterns » Mon Mar 31, 2008 2:49 am

I live in the Bay Area so I see every Warriors game. I also have league pass and have seen almost every player in the NBA play this season more than once. I don't think that there's a better finisher than Ellis of the Warriors, not even Lebron.

Is he the best finisher?

Here's a top 10 from him: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DG_jjK65 ... re=related

The best if not one of the top three finishers in the league. Look at his ridiculous field goal percentage for a guard.

Man he's just so exciting to watch. Definitely one of the best finishers.

Dwight Howard!

Then LeBron. LeBron finishes with guys hanging onto him, I don't really think Monta is close to LeBron to be honest.

I'd put LeBron at #1. Monta isn't far behind, though.

I'd say yes, better then LeBron.

Well not really, but LeBron is 6-8 and huge, while Monta Ellis is 6-2 and skinny. So that gives the edge to Ellis in my mind, just because.

Lebron
Chris Paul
Wade

These guys are by far the best finishers in the league.

Tony Parker has to be in the mix, especially if one considers the fact that he cannot dunk; he shoots 63% on lay-ups, which makes this a down year by his standards.

Tay and Baron make ridiculously hard layups and shots look so easy. But Monta's IMO the best finisher in the league.

Pound for pound I might agree.

He's the best finisher among guards. Like others have said, guys like LeBron and Dwight are better finishers overall.

Overall I'd give LeBron the edge, but Monta is definitely a close second and taking account size and strength he might very well be THE best finisher in the league.

I also live in the Bay, so I've seen literally every Warriors game and this guy just makes ridiculous plays in transition.

Parker is close to Ellis if we're talking pound for pound..Parker makes highlight reel layups look like he's still doing his warmup..

Vince Carter still deserves a mention. Amazing how quickly people forgot about him
