As of right on it has to be the Mavs. Even with Dirk they been struggling plus they added Kidd which doesnt help at all.

IF it wasnt for that divisional crap, Utah would be in this discussion as well.

Depends on when Dirk comes back.

Our problems before the Dirk injury was that Kidd, Howard, Stack, Terry and Bass just all out sucked after the Kidd trade with the only 2 good players being Dirk and Dampier. They just were not gelling.

Since Dirk's injury, Kidd, Stack, Howard and now (as of today's games) Bass have all kicked in gear with the only player playing sub-par being Terry.

If this supporting cast can play they way they have been without Dirk when he comes back, we could be a darkhorse for the title. The question is if Dirk will come back in time to finsih in the top 8.

I believe at the moment Golden State would be the one missing out in a three-way tie. The first tie-breaker in that situation is the best head-to-head winning percentage among all teams tied....

Denver is 4-2 right now...so they'd get the 7th seed.
Dallas is 3-3.....they'd be 8th.
Golden State is 2-4......9th place.

But Golden State still has a game left against both teams, so they could potentially gain the 2nd place among the three teams in the tie-breaker, if they were to beat both.

Denver is in the best situation....because they have already won both head-2-head tie-breakers, as well as the three team tie-breaker.

That's just the basic logistics of the situation right now, if it were to actually end up in a three team tie. If you're just asking who people think is going to miss the playoffs in general, see the other three billion threads on the subject already made.

Meh, not really. They're still 2.5 games ahead of the three teams right now. I could see maybe one or two of them potentially catching the Jazz, if they were to really stink it up down the stretch(their last 6 games are pretty brutal), but not all three.

Denver still has a pretty decent shot at catching them though. They play one more time, and if Denver wins that, not only would they gain another full game, but they'd also have won that tie-breaker as well.

To you! Mav fans have not wanted to trade him the last two years because of his rebounding per min, his blocks per min and his picks that open the floor for Dirk, Howard & Terry. We have not just been talking out of our ass on the trade forum when we reject most of the crap offers for Dampier on that board.

Since the Kidd trade, he has been even better on the offensive end (scoring wise).

I am rooting for Dallas not to make it, I want to see what Cuban does if that happens.

If your team has scoring from all 4 positions, Dampier is a good player to have. What Dirk and Dampier are doing in the same sentence is beyond me though.

I'm 50-50 on Dallas missing the playoffs.
If Dallas misses the playoffs and gets lucky with the draft pick, that would be awesome. On the other hand, if they get their act together and Dirk comes back, IMO they can make a push for the title, though that's highly optimistic.

Dallas can suck balls even with Dirk in the lineup, plus Denver and GSW look so much hungrier, Avery is done.

IMO Dallas will miss the playoffs, GS & the Nuggets will be in.

Mark Cuban will probably go off the deep end, we'll know soon enough.

Count me in as surprised by the poll, it's a massive blowout but it's hard to disagree. None of their schedules are easy, but with Dirk's injury, and their complete inability to beat decent teams since the Kidd trade have them being the odd one out.

Dallas seems to be the odd man out, Denver is on fire offensively and like mentioned before the Warriors have been very consistent since Stephen Jackson came back from his suspension. And Dallas missing their best player really doesn't help.

When is Dirk expected to come back?

Dallas also lost their best player and the NBA's most recent MVP.

If Denver had lost Melo or AI, or GSW had lost Baron or SJax I am sure the poll would reflect the same for those teams.
