How disrespectful and arrogant of him. Although it is honest

They have about 3 in the starting line-up and 4 in the bench that played the game.

There's nothing disrespectful about that. He didn't insult them whatsoever. He only said ""They got D-Leaguers out there, so I think we just handled our business." The End.

Why would their be outrage? We're out of it. Better to ensure a top 4 pick than be mediocre and end up with the 11th pick...

I suppose if anyone were to recognize a team of d-leaguers would be someone who played on a team of dleaguers.

last i checked, the miami heat were an NBA team, not a d-league team. While the team may be made up of people who used to be in the d-league, its still arrogant and disrespectful to refer to them as such, when, in fact, ALL of them are NBA players. It may not stay that way, but for now they are.

Pierce went out of his way to say that. I know that most Heat fans are fine with the tanking (which i think sucks too), but I think its ok to call him out on that.

While I agree that it is uncalled for to call them D-leaguers even though it is the truth (kind of like calling an overweight person "fat" in their face..no need for it), what amazes me the most is how much losing humbles you to the point that we really don't care about comments like Pierces.

Hi, I am a Celtics fan and i just wanted to say that when you guys had Tim Hardaway all the heat players ever did was dis the Celtics. it was all trash talking from heat players. they generally backed it up but it still hurt cause my boys weren't that good . Anyways now that the shoe is on the other foot, the HEAT SUCK! it feels so good....:))

funny thing is, last year's Celtics team with a healthy Pierce would have easily beat last night's Heat squad (without Wade/Marion). Al Jefferson (20/12), Ryan Gomes, Delonte West >> Chris Quinn (a good player himself). This Heat roster without Wade/Marion is worse than any Celtics team since 1996-97.

Guys, with all due respect, I would take that as more directed at Mark Blount and Ricky Davis. It's no secret (even if most Celtics fans don't want to admit it about fan favorite Ricky Davis) that the Celtics, Doc Rivers, Pierce, and the Owners were real tired of not only Blount's bad attitude, but Ricky's as well (Doc has made no secret of how difficult Davis could be.. and how conscious he was of getting his shot attempts and stats)

and correct me if I'm wrong.. but it just doesn't seem surprising that as soon as you traded for Davis/Blount, things sort of went downhill (not necessarily). Of course, I'm not discounting Shaq's statement about Ricky like you probably already have. And of course Antoine/Shaq weren't really giving anything. Yet I find Davis/Blount to be GREAT players ON THE SURFACE. They always seem to be good... Blount a good shooter, Davis just giving it his all and seemingly keeping quiet. That's all on the surface. Trust me. Otherwise they would still be Celtics.

(and don't get me wrong.. I am a huge Dwyane Wade fan :D )
