Interesting article on Kobe's game from Friday

Post#1 » by B-Scott » Mon Mar 31, 2008 3:24 pm

OC Register newspaper Lakers writer Kevin Ding

Bryant adopted a shoot-first, think-about-the-team-situation-later approach Friday night in the loss to Memphis. Bryant actually shot quite well, but the other Lakers were left a little uncertain about their games given how aggressive he was. It was a topic worth talking over by Bryant, who had one assist in the game and couldn

If they would have won it wouldn't have been an issue.

When Kobe plays like that, we look like we did the two, three previous years. How many assists did he end up getting in the win yesterday? 13 or 14?

exactly! plus it's not like guys didn't get shots. the lakers lost that game because no one else could shoot, and they didn't play defense.

Oh, how B-Scott must have leapt for joy when finally, there was something to complain about Kobe this year.

Tell you what, if Odom didn't go 1-7, we win the ball game, Kobe's great offensive performance doesn't go wasted, we don't drop one to a crappy team in a tight playoff race, and this thread wouldn't even exist.

Actually, this thread probably would still exist, since obviously B-Scott has been jonesying for something to complain about Kobe, finally.

Well, isn't that short-lived?

Next game:

"Kobe got everybody involved," Jackson said. "Teams are just making a conscious effort to throw the kitchen sink at me, so we have to have that trust where guys knock down shots, and we were able to do that," Bryant said.

He drops 13 assists as Sasha, Walton, and Fish step up FTW. This, after the three players in question stunk it up against Memphis.

That's called trust. That's called leadership.

Waiting and waiting and waiting to pounce on something negative about Kobe is a short-lived, set-yourself-up-to-eat-your-own-words-in-two-days enterprise.

So true.
Funny how peps come out of wood works (general board) just to post an article about Kobes leasership skills when he has bascially done everything he could do this year to improve everyone around him and he has since we are seeing our 50W and the chemistry of this team.

Like I said in the Sasha thread , a couple of bad losses to a sub 500 teams , which I do agree we should have won but we didnt .
Now all of a sudden , Kobe is a bad leader and Sasha doesnt deserve a contract extension and he sucks . :noway:

You know sometimes we forget these guys are human. They have emotions. Like Lamar and his kid dying. Derek and his daughter. We have Pau just trying to fit in coming from Memphis. Luke having to listen to his dad.

Anyway Kobe probably did need to vent. Losing to Charlotte was bad enough and then getting the T's just iced it.

I could tell Kobe was on a mission to shoot but I thought it was because Lamar was under the weather and Phil said to take over the offense.

I like that Phil said that Kobe would destroy the relationship he has built and Kobe responded that it was just 1 game thing. Kobe came back and he didn't have a good shooting night but he played well.

It's not always roses and I respect Kobe for being honest about it. He cares about the game, whatever else people say about Kobe you know that he least he cares.......
I'm so tired of the typical......

Unless your a Laker fan or truely not bias (which means less then 1% of the population) people are still gonna think of Kobe as the old Kobe but we all know the truth.
