At one point, Haigwood was a well-regarded ChiSox prospect.

And Shoemaker was just minor league filler anyway. Probably a couple steps away from being released.
I've seen conflicting reports on Haigwood's velocity. Some say he throws in the mid-80s and some say he can hit the low 90s. But apparently he has a nice curveball and a good change.
Seems a bit odd that he's never been above AA, though. 213.33 IP in AA so far.
