Atlanta Hawks

Post#1 » by Bcustom28k » Mon Mar 31, 2008 9:52 pm

The hawks are currently the 8 seed.

maybe they only scare me because i play with them on my bball videogame.

HOWEVER

I think they are by far the most athletic team in the league, and now they have Bibby running the show.

I think a team with Josh Smith,Joe Johnson, and marvin Williams running a break with Bibby is a little scary.

Not to mention Al Horford who i think will show us alot about perk.

They also have a formittable bench. Acie Law can shoot the rock, so can salim stoudamire.. and then they have Childress and that pzribella guy.

What do u guys think, i think a bad matchup for us, id rather play the magic to tell you the truth.

Actually I would go ahead and disagree. They aren't good and don't scare me.

Bibby looks lost out there on the hawks, and Law is a rookie. Neither worries me against Eddie House, no less Cassell or Rondo.

Joe Johnson has a tendency to disappear during crunch time, where as our SG has been exceptionally clutch minus the Two missed free throws against the cavs.

Marvin Williams and Josh Smith meet Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett.

Horford is great... Really a good player. But Perkins has experience. Also we have plenty of bodies to throw at him'as Perk, Davis, Brown and Powe are all more than capable of covering him.

And their bench is pretty terrible compared to ours, with Childress being the only capable player.

Celtics in 4 with an average margin of victory of 20 points.

I mean honestly how could you even say this?

This team is far superior to the Hawks in so many ways.

Add in playoff intensity so we will see 48 minutes of ray, KG, Paul, and effort on the defensive end.

Of the other current top 8 seeds, I'd want Atlanta the most, followed by Toronto, then Philly.

The difference in quality is huge. The most important thing is that they don`t play defense. They also don`t have an inside presence and their bench is poor.

I will be disappointed if we lose a game against them. Our defense should totally shut them down...

Atlanta is a good team for the future if they can keep core guys together. But right now, they're playoff fodder for us.

If Atlanta can sign, trade for or draft a legitimate center and have a completely healthy Bibby entering next season. The Hawks could be a much better team.

I'm thinking if they've a quality center to start. They can move Horford to power forward and Smith to small forward.

I guess Phoenix owns their first round pick this year. Perhaps, they could talk to Seattle about the availability of one of their big men.

I like alot of the young guys the hawks have (Josh Smith and Al Horford especially), but that aside I'd be highly surprised if they win one game against us

The playoffs are for the top teams (well... at least conference-wise...). No team is ever completely out of it, and everyone plays hard in the playoffs. Atlanta isn't a pushover in that sense, but I'd rather face them than Philly or Toronto (as someone said earlier in the topic).

I wouldn't be shocked if the Hawks won a game or hung in a few, but I also wouldn't be surprised if the Celtics take it in four.

The C's should sweep the series. But its good to see the Hawks back in the mix.

The only thing I'm concerned with the Hawks is tiring the C's out. It'll probably be a sweep, but the Hawks will probably make the C's at least work for it each game, but they'll have some time to rest after the likely sweep, so it's alright. In all honesty, Atlanta's a year away at least from really being a threat in the playoffs.

Atlanta just wants the playoff experience for its young guys. Winning a single game would be a surprise to most Hawks' fans.

It's also nice knowing that the lottery is irrelevant for a change.

Not to get off subject, but have you ever noticed how Marvin Williams walks? His butt seems to stick out abnormally.

Hawks have some nice pieces. If they can put a solid power forward alongside Horford they could be really good. I think Marvin Williams and Josh Smith are small forwards being forced to play minutes at power forward.
