Is it possible Lebron ends his career without a ring?
*This is not a bash Lebron Thread*
With the way the League rules are setup in regards to trading players. The fact that other good teams currently have guys in place to build chemistry and win in the future. Plus, guys most likely re-sign with the team they are on because they can offer more money more yrs. I dont see how Lebron breaks through and gets a ring. Here's the break down:
1. Lebron still doesnt have his sidekick to make his championship runs with.
2. The Pistons and Celtics will be very good for the next 5 yrs. These are great TEAMS. Not one or two players............ TEAMS.
3. Theres a guy by the name of Dwight Howard that has a pretty good sidekick named Rashard Lewis. They will be a force in near future.
4. Lets say Cavs still somehow come out of the east. The Lakers with Kobe, Gasol, Bynum and Odom will be a force for about 5 yrs. Bynum will only be 25.
5. And if all else fails Portland will be sick for the next 10yrs with Oden and that young core.
I know Cavs will have a huge expiring contract in Big Ben next year but is one player enough? It looks like the league is going to where you need "The Big Three". I mean, as crazy as it sounds next year the heat will be back with a healthy Wade, Marion, maybe Derick Rose, and Haslem. Things are not looking good for Lebron IMO. Not to mention if he goes to New York this sets him back even more because you know they are going to shed contracts before the move leaving Lebron with nothing. And because you have a Lebron the team he is on will always be good enough to make the playoffs which means they will always have a low draft pick in the draft. How does he get his ring?

It's possible he will even without injuries. He can't individually win a championship unless he's playing the current Miami Heat in the Finals for the rest of his career. I don't know if he will win it with Cleveland, but he needs a sidekick now since Boston and Detroit are a lot tougher.

Exactly. I mean if we agree that the Pistons and Celtics will be legit for the next 5 yrs that puts Lebron 10 yrs into his career. Thats not even talking about Portland with Oden, Roy, and Lemarcus and Outlaw. Its kinda wierd to say he actually might not get one.

Your arguments are quite flawed. The Celtics will not dominate another 5 years. I predict this is the best they will be for the remainder of the garnett era. The same goes for the pistons. I can't believe your using a longevity argument in comparing a 23 year old lebron james to 2 teams who's starters average age are into the 30's.
Not to mention to bring up Portland in the mix? a little far flung at this point. Will oden really dominate for 10 years, howe about 10 weeks? we have no clue with him. Will lebron win a ring we dont know, but its ludicrous at this point to bring up arguments why he wont. I mean look at KG just a year ago and today.

Its just SO STUPId for people to say that he wont get one.
OH MY LORD.
I mean the guy just went to the NBA finals last year for God's sakes.
Think about this:
The spurs are getting old
Kobe will retire in 5 years
LBJ has another 12 years at this level in him. How on EARTH one can think he wont get at least one all star on his team is beyond ridiculous folks.
He's just TOO GOOD and too focused right now to be denied.
I mean WHO IS MORE LIKELY To get one?
DHow
CPaul
Oden
WHO???

In 3 years Ray PP, KG will be broken down and busted, Sheed Billups and probally rip too.Mcdyse will be as well. In the West the Spurs, Suns and possilby even Dallas will be burnt out also. Rockets will be left with a old tmac, if hes even still playing. Kobe will be just about done. Although N.O. and Utah will be great for years.
Portland is not in the mix until Oden plays, hell he oculd be Diop part 2 we dont know. LBJ has to only ouplay Shard and Dwight to get to the finals. I really think LBJ will get a ring atleast 2.

The next 2-3 years will be Lebron's "early years". The years he didn't win...
Celtics
Detriot
Spurs
Lakers
All 3 rings will most likely go to a combination of those teams.
After that....who is there in the east to stop Lebron from getting to the finals? There's NO ONE that can legitimately contend with Lebron + a decent team. Rashard Lewis? LOL

It is very possible. Say the Celtics and Pistons are both better for three years (mostly because the Cavs won't be bad enough to get a franchise player in the draft) blocking his path. Then who knows who will be good. Maybe the Sonics, t-wolves, or Blazers after a successful draft or two. Maybe the Heat. Maybe the Lakers stay good with Gasol and Kobe (both of whom are still relatively young). Maybe Lebron signs with another team who he thinks will be good, and injuries strike other players on that team (remember how good we thought the Magic would be with T-Mac and Grant Hill). 10 years ago who would have thought that KG would still be casing his ring? It is hard to win in the NBA, and no one is guaranteed anything.

At lot can happen in three years. A great draft here and a trade there and there is a now power in the east.

With that current supporting cast, I can't imagine him winning anything. Unless he bolts Cleveland for a bigger contract somewhere else...but I doubt that. If LBJ wins a championship, it won't be with the Cavs.

I'll say the same thing I said about Peyton Manning before he won a Super Bowl...
He's too good and too committed not to win one. He will win at least one eventually. Whether it be in Cleveland or elsewhere, he will win one.
My bet is it's elsewhere since Cleveland is the most cursed sports city.
I would say the chances of him not winning one are close to zero. I've been saying for a while that anyone that bashes LeBron right now is gonna be sorry once he gets his running mate.

Yeah, Im not bashing Lebron by any stretch of the imagination. Im just looking at the talent around the league and its amazing the talent level. In a perfect world he would stay in his home town and win it there but I just dont know. Hopefully he gets his sidekick soon.
