OT Dorsey

Post#1 » by aussienet » Mon Mar 31, 2008 10:34 pm

Hey guy's just after some thoughts and opinions on Memphis Forward/ Centre Dorsey. I see he is down as a late second round pick on realgm mock draft. I have only seen him play so far in the tourney and he seems to have great hustle energy and heart. Has his stocks risen? is he at his best now? Would we be interested in him? I know we need a pure shooter (is any one interested in curry after his great tourney run)

THOUGHTS!

That's cool, I know that we need a shooter. But I'm just interested in your thoughts, in fact everyones thoughts on Dorsey. Has his tourney play lifted him into the late first round of the draft? Would he be a steal in the second round? Or is this as good as he gets and he has no upside left?
I'm not really interested in us drafting him. More interested in finding more on him!

He's undersized but similar to a less skilled Maxiel. He could probably have the same type of impact defensively and on the boards and he's definitely worth a 2nd rounder. He's the type of guy you take a flyer on and see if his energy can force his way onto the court. I don't think he would have much of a chance to crack the rotation here considering how many young bigs we have.

Thanks for the report. Would you agree he has had a great tourney thus far? Upto the final four i mean or do you feel he has been servicable?

Excellent comparison...I was thinking the same thing. Dorsey really doesn't have a jumper or true post moves. He survives on the other guys getting to the hoop and getting the attention. I guess his play so far in the tourney has been whats expected from him. Nothing spectacular. He got his work cut out for him though when he goes up against Kevin Love.

Dorsey has a great body! which can take on more mass. high energy! Did an excellent job on Love.

Definitely take him in the second round!

Actually would like to see Boone devlop the same level of passion.

Dorsey contributes nothing on offense, do we really want Jason Collins 2.0?

I watched the semi final the other day and Dorsey should of had ten points. Fran Fraschilla said he had hands of rock, but to me it looked like some nerves as he had most of his looks early in the game. Not makin excuses for him. If you read my original post i wanted to know if we would draft him. I do believe he will fit in someones system.

Is a very poor mans carlos boozer to much of a compliment?

Whats so bad about Boone as a late 1st rounder.
He looks like he is going to be a legit double double guy given consistent starters minutes. He needs a legit Allstar 4 or 5 next to him to be truly effective though.
I think Boone is lightyears ahead of a guy like Dorsey.
Boone is like an offensively challenged Boozer or Gooden.
Dorsey will be like an athletic Doop or Steven Hunter type.
