I'm pretty sure Tyler was also very on board with us trading for JO. He'd post the same proposal in nearly every thread.

EDIT: but to be fair, I'm pretty sure there was a lot of people on board with the trade at some point during the summer. Very few spoke out against trading Bynum.

Thank god we didn't trade for that no good crap shooting power forward. It is a disgrace that he shoots in the low 40%...

To be fair to all the people that wanted JO before Gasol came... JO was the perfect attainable PF at the time. Thank you Mitch for not biting.

I remember at the begginning i thought it was a joke to give up Odom+Bynum.. Then after the Kobe trade i was still very iffy on it, and then after a couple of months of us doing absolutely nothing but getting Fisher and re-signing Luke Walton i read a fair few posts which seemed pretty fair about it to me, (which supported the trade) and then really started to think about it and support the trade (under the assumption that the trade would get Kobe to stay)..

I ended up becoming one of the most heavily in favour of the trade (on this board)..

Man was i wrong.

I think Bynum is more valuable then Odom.
As for the JO thing each player is more valuable meaning Odom and Bynum surely but I don't think any of us knew Gasol was an option.
I made a mistake when I thought we should have traded for JO. He has one of the worst contracts in the league for what he gives you.

how do i do that?

Sorry, I got busy. Thanks Kno.

Back to topic: I surely wanted Jermaine for LO and change at the time, but yeesh. I feel bad for Indy, I mean it could be worse for them, but they have to watch LO and Bynum shred while Jerminjury strikes again.

At which point I was willing to give up Odom and Bynum for JO

Others said they wouldnt do it because JO was too injury prone, and quite frankly, they were right

exactly the opposite of my thought process.

i was willing to trade either bynum or odom - never both, BUT, as soon as kobe made his trade demand (which was pretty much at the start of all of this), that made bynum untouchable as far as i was concerned - and i'm sure the lakers too.

I have got to admit I didnt see Bynum turning out to be good so far. I mean he did show some glimpses in last season but i started to think if Kobes rant on Bynum in that video would have killed his confidence. He sure did change my mind, starting with the fact that he took it upon himself to be better than what everyone was saying about him. I am glad we didnt trade for JO, with the offer of BYnum and LO. But honestly i never thought we could have pulled the trigger on the Gasol trade. that just hit me by surprise. Gasol is way better than JO, and in turn im glad mitch didnt do anything say first trading kobe, then secondly trading Bynum.

If we did trade Bynum + Odom for Jermaine O'Neal we'd still win the championship. Even if we still had Kwame and no Gasol we'd still win it. Kobe Bryant is just that great.
