Hibbert has an awesome touch, great heart and character, quality rebounder and probably one of the best big man FT shooters in a long time...

Hibbert, Weaver, Collison, Rush, Ogilvy...all would be great fits here.

Compliment Dwight perfectly? Do you watch the Magic?

He plays primarily in the post (even though he's rather soft) and is 7'2.

How on God's green Earth does that do anything for Dwight Howard's game?

So you bump Dwight to the 4 and Roy to the 5. The same was going to happen when Battie got back anyway. Hibbert has a decent outside shot and is a defensive presence. He swats two shots per game and can help with driving guards that can (and will) get past Jameer. Yes, he does play primarily in the post, but so what? It's a David Robinson/Tim Duncan type situation. Twin towers. And Roy is a good passer, too. If he draws even the hint of a double team, he'll get assists to Dwight all night long.

EDIT: Oh, and everything Thief said, too.

He would compliment Dwight perfectly as a back up center.

I dont see Rush having a better career than bogans in this league. Collison would be my dream pick.

Thabeet should be around and he will be an absolute beast on D and boards...Cant pass him up

Also there is Douglas-Roberts, Batum(maybe), Hibbert...

This is a pretty deep draft...Hopefully we can pick up a strong piece

I actually think Dorsey is being underrated. He def can form into a Ben Wallace.

I guess I just do not understand the immediate need for a big man. Battie should be back next year and we might even get Fran over here. I think we are going to run Lewis and Turk again next year..It works, we just need some more rebounding on occasion. For the most part Howard does do it by himself.

Draft a PG..Use MLE for Magette..Maybe use Vet min for another rebounding big if Fran doesn't come over.

We sign Dooling back, We sign Evans, trade JJ plus a second rounder for a first rounder.. We use it to draft Collison and then use the other first rounder to draft Serge Ibaka . Trade the other second rounder for cash and bring Fran over.

Nelson,Dooling,Collison
Maggette,Bogans
Turk,Evans
Lewis, Battie, Fran
Howard, Foyle, Serge

I like that team...The second squad will be lock down pretty much anyone else's bench.....Collison, Fran and Serge can develop for the future without a load of pressure.

Maggette is going to need touches to be effective, Childress wouldn't. Both are probably pipe dreams.

Resign Evans and Dooling.

Try to sign Mags or Childress but if not drive up the price on Nenad Kristic (restricted) and if NJ matches, go after Diop. Diop would be an awesome back up Center to Dwight and good for him to practice against. Play about 14 mpg. If not, we get Nenad as our back-up PF/C. Both players are young solid role players.

Draft best player available preferably Darren Collison (groom him into the NBA PG position).

Jameer/Dooling/(Collison)
Evans/Bogans
Hedo/Shard/Bogans
Shard/Battie, Cook, Fran or (Draft Pick)
Dwight/Diop/Gortat

^ Agreed I'm not liking Maggette here no more. Give me Childress all the way if I was to choose a SG I think it's doable. It depends on who we draft IMO with who we sign on MLE.

Unless a guy like Hibbert is out there, I think we have to go with a guard. Collison and then signing Childress would be an amazing offseason IMO. Adding Collison, Childress, Fran, and Battie and subtracting Garrity, Arroyo, and Augustine from this years team gives me goosebumps.

That would be the Redick pick all over again. Good in college does not equal good in the NBA. Hopefully Otis has that part figured out.

I don't think the site has a very good draft record over the years, despite its name. (And by the way, I think its Hansbrough. Another player from a North Carolina college who has a name no one can spell....Is that a bad omen?)

Either way, I don't think the Magic can afford to draft someone and stash them overseas for a couple years. They need help now.

This is a rational plan which is only a bit unrealistic (Corey for the MLE). The team you built would be better than this year's team. And would probably overtake Detroit.

If the Magic "need" a rookie selected at ~22, then the team is truly in do-do. But they don't and they're not. :)

Considering the Magic's draft position, I believe that they should target BPA, and in particular undersized position player w/a high skill or energy level. These are the guys that always seem to drop (ie. Boozer, Milsap, David Lee, Big Baby)... "Tweeners" that don't have a position. Personally I think they should stay away from athletes w/upside & low skill levels/basketball IQ's these players never seem to pan out with the Magic.

alright, i have taken a lot of time, i weeded down through my list and i have decided who I want the Magic to shoot for, Chris Douglas-Roberts...the kid has it...a total package...great size and speed for his position, excellent athlete, good on defense and can score in various ways including shooting and attacking the basket...
