What should the Nets do this offseason to improve?

With a current core of Devin Harris, Jefferson, and Carter, what do the Nets need to take it to the next level? Carter has 5 more years on his contract but is playing like a superstar as of late....BUT he always does this in march and april and apparently he can't do it for a full season. Should the Nets keep him? Or if he isn't the problem what could the Nets do to improve and become contenders once again?

get rid of the lazy dude by the name of vince carter. that was a stupid contract they gave him. he only shows up at the end of the season. this year, he showed up a little to late.

get some front court players that can defend. as a PF or a C getting 10 rebounds a game doesn't meant you've done enough. you have to be able to defend your position.

get a defensive minded wing player. and add some bench pieces that can hit the three.

The Nets need an inside scorer. Someone like Ike Diogu.
They need to trade Carter, now that Kidd is in Dallas.
Keep collecting talent and cut payroll, until Lebron's a FA.

if the nets can trade carter and get a decent young player back(like what they got for kidd) then they can have a pretty good young core going forward.

Vince Carter will have suitors this off-season IMO, if he keeps playing like he has for the last month..the Nets are going to need him to close out strong, so other teams can take a chance on him..Dallas should have took him, but we're past that..

if they can't trade Carter, they need to trade Jefferson..

I would actually package Marcus Williams with Carter, because I'm sure some GM's still believe Williams has some talent and potential(I don't think he really does)..

Krstic is a ?..

New Jersey can pretty much trade anybody on their roster other than Harris..I'd probably keep Boone too..I'd think of keeping S.Williams too..

I would start rebuilding..try hard to get rid of Carter and Jefferson..they're gonna be getting Lebron when he's a FA anyways, so start building towards that..he INSTANTLY makes them a playoff contender regardless of the surrounding talent, so they just need to focus on developing players for the time being..

They need to rebuild, keep Jefferson, Krstic and Harris and get some decent players around them and in no time they will be a playoff contender.

well, it can be a quick turnaround imo. a few decent tweaks and they can get it rollin soon enough.
#1. trade Vince
- preferably for a low-post scoring center, a good one. just
throwin it out there, but a VC for Curry/Crawford deal matches
money-wise. thats the main type of move id make to get it back.

#2. Ray Allen type trade
-its gonna be hard since they have no real deal-friendly
contracts, but it can work.
-maybe a Boone OR M.Williams, Hassell and a 1st(not sure what
they got) for M. MIller

new-look:
pg-Harris/Williams
sg-J.Crawford/Miller
sf-Jefferson/Miller
pf-S.Williams/Krstic
c-Curry/Krstic

thats a good, balanced top 8 imo

Curry is a cancer to any team, Nets would not be happy with him. They need to keep Krstic, Jefferson, Harris and maybe Williams since he's young. Then just pick up players like Mike Miller and couple other good role players and they will be a good team.

It clears out the salary of carter - daniels and murphy have 2 and 3 years left on their deals. And they are decent players. That team will prob play better defense, be tougher

Pacers:

Carter
Granger, Dunleavy
Jermaine
Harrison/foster

Pacers try to make Jermaine happy quickly. Dunleavy gets to move to the bench, and Carter, Oneal and Granger become a nice trio.

like i said, it doesnt have to be him exactly, just a big, low-post oriented center. Sean Williams is a beast and they need to utilize him properly, and Krstic is NOT that guy,sorry.

I forgot about that one..

the Nets would definitely be in the playoffs if they had a good coach..Frank's rotations are terrible, and he has no control of the team..the only positivity he brings with his coaching is that he's a good play maker out of timeouts..that's pretty much the only good aspect of his coaching..
