I believe my previous post in this thread addresses that...

It's a matter of understanding that Gilbert says whatever is on his mind at the moment he's being interviewed (or writing a blog, etc). He can say one thing, then do the exact opposite. He can write that, if he isn't cleared to play, he's going to crash his car into a wall.
He says these things because, whether he's joking or not, that's what he's thinking at the time. It doesn't make him any less sincere or a good/bad person. But people need to realize that everything Gilbert says, fun/insulting/good/bad/whatever, needs to be taken with a huge grain of salt.
This is no different. He may think that it's a great idea to take a paycut and give the remnants to Jamison NOW, but he may have something else on his mind when he's ready to start negotiating with Wiz management.

Look at Devean George, nobody knew about that loophole where he couldn't be traded without his permission. I just think that there are details that someone who is an expert at negotiating would catch. I mean, I know Gilbert is a smart guy but he might miss something blogging about his contract negotiations.
I'm not saying it's a good decision on his part not to have an agent. If he had an agent, he'd have been informed that it is idiotic to opt out in a year when the only major player in the Arenas sweepstakes is Washington.
But then again, this (in my mind) speaks to how comfortable he is with this organization. He loves the players. He loves the area. He loves the fans. It's an offensive system that suits him to absolute perfection, and an environment that caters to what makes Gilbert "Gilbert". I'd say that he's so comfortable here that, barring an insulting offer, he's pretty much here to stay, and has had that belief for quite some time.
