I remember Trainwreck being tired in October one year and needing time off  ....This is after playing 18 minutes a game for the French National team August through September

I am not fond a fan of pietrus play but i can' blame a guy that doesn't want to mortgage his "future" for a team that has treated him like the warriors have .. Refusing to trade him and "lowballing" (ok he doesn't desserve much but still) him.

He's only hurting his own free agent value.

I don't know how much future Pietrus has if he doesn't perform on a more regular basis for the Warriors this season.

Keeping Pete here in a lame duck situation was suicidal.

Not investing those minutes in Brandan and Barnes was idiotic.

Pete can go pee up a rope. Someone who gives a crap about the team will show up.

You have it all backwards. GS doesn't want to mortgage ITS future on Pietrus. Pietrus lowballed himself.

Pietrus is one of those players that I really wish would have his head on a little tighter. He is a physically gifted athlete. I WOULD want him to stay on the Warriors if he could get his act together...but stuff like this is really hurting his value. I actually think he CAN get smarter. His heart needs to be into it though, and you can tell his heart isn't with the W's organization anymore. What a waste. What I do know is that a motivated Pietrus >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Barnes. I still think a lot of Petey's potential is unfilled.

But right now... Barnes> Pietrus.

He's a 5 year vet. It's time to stop talking about his potential and deal with what he is.

He's athletic, but not skilled, a selfish player, fundamentally unsound, basketball stupid and lacks heart. This is not new. He didn't just become soft with this latest boo boo. Everybody just kept ignoring it because he made an exciting dunk or block every 6 games.

We should have "dealt with what he is" this past summer, but those nekkid pictures just keep comming back to haunt us.

IF mp plays next season in the nba, i'll predict he misses training camp because of contract disputes.

Dirk is apparently having his left foot removed and replacing it with a prothesis so he can suit up. Still no word if Snatchtrus managed to get his hands on a bottle of Midol?

MP is going to come back and continue his double double play, effectively silencing all the bandwagon hoppers.

I hope he does.

He owes me 450 more high level minutes to bring his contribution this season into the black.

And this is no bandwagon. Two teammates have alread called him out not so subtly. On our last nationally broadcast game the NBA Tv analyst said the same thing specifically about Snatchstrus sitting out - called him out by name. His handling of this minor owie at this juncture in a playoff season is a major faux-paux.

Huh?

He cant even attend any training camp unless he has a contract. He's UFA.

He must at least have a non-guaranteed prove-up for the minimum.

you indirectly supported my point. he won't be satisfied with contract offers. he wasn't worth his qualifying offer this year & i'm sure he'll hope to get more than $3.5m/yr in the open market - but after a worse campaign than last year, i don't think anyone will be willing to pay his price. so IF he's in the nba next year, he'll miss training camp because he won't be happy with any offers in the summer/offseason. i just don't see him being content to take a contract smaller than what he got this year. he might have to be on a 1-year deal somewhere to prove he's worth a long term investment.

He feels he's done enough to warrant a long term contract. A few double doubles in a row and he doesn't want to ruin that by going back to single singles in the last 12 games of the season. I'm sure that's his reasoning.
