Green is playing much better tonight
the main reason is that he is driving to the basket, making layups and free throws instead of bricking jumpers

This is the Willie Green that coach Cheeks is trying to groom. This Willie Green is a starting shooting guard.

I missed the first 8 minutes but I am glad that we could match their offense. If it comes down to defense, we should be better off.

It's also a good thing that Carter has already 2 fouls.

So ... playing like he did in the first quarter isn't good enough to be a starting shooting guard ?

I'm not knocking the guy, it's just that this isn't typical. beyond that it is only a quarter. he is much improved from before but he still has poor shot selection and fall's in love w/ that 20fter.

if willie plays like this for the rest of the season he can start w/o me saying a peep. his past tells me it's unlikely though.

Well, he might not play like this ... but if he does ... then he is a starting shooting guard. I still hold out hope that he can play like this. He has a world of natural talent. He just has to learn to play within himself and not think he can shoot a shot from anywhere. I have hope that Maurice Cheeks is just the guy who can help him with that discipline. Willie Green is a humble enough guy that I think it is possible for him to keep learning.

Yep. He is supposed to make those lay-ups. No excuses there.

The Sixers defense is not what I have come to expect. They seem like they are beginning to focus on offense instead of defense. That will be fatal for them, if true.

I cannot stand him either.

That was impressive defense by Thaddeus.

Have to pick up the D in the second half.. Need to keep Harris out of the paint.
