even with a passive GM such as Ferry, who rarely trades, you'll get at least three great chances to build around Lebron...the first one didn't work as planned, the second one is coming over the next couple off seasons with expiring contracts or cap space and the last one will happen either in cleveland or somewhere else down the line...

but LeBron is very devoted to his family and friends in Akron and Cleveland, and likes being close to them. I think it would take a helluva lot to get him away from that. And in the end, I think for a comparable, maybe even slightly lesser amount he would stay with the Cavs.

I think Cleveland needs to make it back to the finals at least before he hits free agency. I don't see it happening with their roster right now. From all that I've read and heard Lebron has made it clear he wants to be a true superstar as in multiple rings and the face of the sport, in a Jordanesque way. I think he wants it to happen in Cleveland but he won't hesitate to leave if he thinks it can't.

Financially he wasn't spoilt as a child, but he's been hailed as the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ from a young age. LeBron himself was doing plenty of the hailing but socially from a young age he would have been worshipped by his peers. That does more to the mind than being spoilt financially.

Cleveland will trade some of their $30 million in expiring contracts next year for a a very good NBA player, as is status quo in this league. Look for a deal like expirings and draft picks for Michael Redd and a few bad contracts from Milwaukee. That gives Cleveland one of the best teams in the NBA.
