Woeffel on the postgame show.....

Walsh to New York seems done deal.....

Kohl interviewed Sund and Griffin.

Woeffel "had a couple guys tell me the Bucks might interview" this guy:

Interesting. Working alongside Colangelo is definitely a strong notch on his resume. That's a terrific GM to learn from.

Colangelo brought him in when Bargnani was drafted to smooth the transition. Danilo Gallinari would be looking like the clear favorite at 7 if he's the GM.

Look at the upside.....when Kohl and Walters attempt to stop him from making a deal all he has to say is "me no understand"!

one more thing, Ron Walters gets all the heat for being the moron that he is but I believe there is another lawyer who has the senator's ear as well, perhaps Gad or someone can get his name.

Need to be clear that this was just a minor note from Woeffel.....he didn't have anything concrete on this. But when Sparky asked him if the Bucks were talking to anyone else other than Walsh, Griffin and Sund he mentioned this guy.

I don't know how I'd feel on this.....I guess I'd hire him, because maybe with him being a foreign guy, Kohl would listen to him.

Of course we'd be Euro, Euro, Euro.....I'm not sure I'm down for that. But maybe not.

I'd like to see the Bucks bring both Gherardini and a guy like Griffin. Give one the title of President and the other GM. We need to expand the front office with competent basketball people.

I think you're referring to Mike Burr. He's the CFO though.

I don't think that would necessarily be the case. You thought Larry and Dave liked to pull on Italian suits, well they don't have anything on Bryan Colangelo. Colangelo is a big part of the Raptors foreign influence (of course Gherardini helped). I think Maurizo is smart enough to realize the difference between FIBA and the NBA. And the raptors have had winning seasons two years in a row.

Well we're still building for the future...it's not like we're in championship mode. Not too shabby for a team that's in year 2 of the Colangelo era. Now I would complain if we're 4 years in and we have that record but it's just year 2.

Now on to "The Godfather". He has all the connects to Europe and knows European players very well. As for the NBA, we have no clue how he would do as GM but I think he'll make a good GM but be prepared to have a few Euros on your team because obviously, since he knows the international game very well, he'll try to bring in the best from overseas as role players for a team. He just seems to have a very good knowledge of basketball.

If this guy is drafting strictly Euro then I just don't want him. I know that makes me short-sighted and everything. I absolutely do not want Gallinari or Batum in this draft.

This is a guy with solid European basketball executive experience. He will help in getting guys out of buyouts and dealing with all things that European players have to go through before being in the NBA. From hearing him on talk radio, and him relaying his basketball philosophy, he believes in solid team play rather than individual stardom. Which in theory is great, but in the NBA you need stars to win games for you down the stretch. Last year, he did not get too involved in NCAA scouting but he has taken more of an active approach this year.
As for his affiliation with Italian players, last year he was instrumental in the selection of Bargnani, which has turned into a waste. The Raps were also trying to deal for Belinelli, so it would not surprise me in the least if he is very eager about Galinari. He did however question Galinari's athleticsm and how it translates to the NBA level. In my opinion, you're team would be much better served having Griffin, Hammonds, or Shepherd than going with MG.

We could really use some Euro expertise to fill out our depth. I wouldn't think it'd be a foregone conclusion that he'd take Gallinari. I'm sure he's scouting the NCAA, too.
