Oh wow, nice! I've been a fan of this guy since his last year at Washington.
He's like a more athletic, better offensive version of Bruce... he could be the long-term replacement for him.
I think he has a serious chance to stick around eventually - I hope so. In general he should somewhere, he has the game and mind-set to do so.
He actually had a triple double with Memphis earlier this season, and showed well with Denver.

I've liked Bobby Jones as a potential Spur for a long time. I've seen a little bit of him this season and I'm surprised that he hasn't found a permanent team yet. Perhaps he'll flourish in the Spurs' defensive system.
More realistically though I see this as a stop gap move because of Barry's injury.

5th team this year and he hasn't stuck? Might have something to do with the particular systems he has been in - read Beno. Maybe the Spurs type of game plan is more to his liking. Hmm...this looks like a wait and see situation. From what I've heard, since I've never seen him play, he sounds like a good addition but needs development with the Toros. No significant PT from the Spurs this year since the playoffs are upon us. I've heard we had extra money to spend that wouldn't put us over the cap and they had been looking at him since January.
Sounds like he has a chance to get a min. type contract and then play in the summer league for the Spurs. If promising then a tryout to make the team or another year in the DL with the Toros.
The saga for a long 3 continues!

I don't think it can be ruled out he'll see some regular game minutes against the teams around the bottom of the league.

There's 8 games left in the season. At this point it's all about gearing up for the playoffs, not giving newbies burn. Now granted, maybe on the last game or two of the season, if seedings are all wrapped up, Pop will give his guys the night off and Bobby will get a lot of minutes and have the opportunity to put up some numbers. But in that case, I'm not sure what the point of talking about stats in a meaningless game are. And with the playoff races as tight as it is, there might not even be the opportunity for him to get minutes because we just don't end up sitting our guys for any games. And on top of that, that's assuming we sign him to another 10 day contract after this one ends, so he'll even be around at the end of the season.

I realize the situation of course, and know there may not be another oppurtunity for Jones. But it is still a normal possibility and can't be ruled out in Jones getting to play again.
Also, where you're off here is, I didn't say or mean "a lot" of minutes or necessarily putting up "numbers" or stats". I meant what I said, in him getting some regular game minutes in 2 or 3 games from the rest of the season, and just showing what he can do in general. Obviously being against the lesser teams in that case, aside from possible garbage time. And whatever numbers he would put up won't be meaningless in a sense, because what stats there are will be relevant for his situation of trying out, in partly relating to his evaluation of the oppurtunities he would of had.
Obviously Jones' oppurtunity doesn't mean anything this season and is an underlying thing, but it could well be the starting point for a continued relationship over the future. To add an above-average young complementary player on the wings.

I'm not too worried about Jones' constant changing of teams at this point. Defense is about help and team play, one player simply cannot stop a truely gifted offensive player consistantly. The teams Jones has played for have been pretty poor defensively and most dont even value defense at all. Which leads me to believe that Jones' value has been undervalued.
