I like barbosa taking the three at the end.. I just don't like him missing it. Also I think we just lost this game because of free throws and fatigue. Other than that I think we played a fabulous game and we maybe could have played a bit more defense but it's hard to shut a team like Denver down.
Even though Denver doesn't play hard defense I was happy with our offense, hopefully it gives us confidence against the defensive juggernaut teams like Boston, Detriot, San Antonio.

I don't come here often but I just watched the game and wanted to see if anyone else thought the refs blew almost every call possible. I guess others saw it too. I can't stand watching iverson play. Untouched and-1's get a little old. Flying to the ground on any shot. And by the way diaw sucks. And since when are the refs so sensitive. "I think he's giggling at me." What the crap is that? I swear to god I could walk onto the court right now and officiate a better game than half the douche bag refs in the nba.
And the denver announcers made me mute the sound for most of the 2nd half. Almost as bad as tommy heinson. I know, everything the suns do is a travel or foul, denver is getting screwed. SHUTUP.

It is just the oposite of how Denver felt about the game last night.
Huh? You guys choked away a 22 point lead last night and lost. We just didn't make big shot at the end and were short handed. This game was close, last night you guys got blown out in the 2nd half. How is this the same?
And the refs didn't favor us last night too. Nash got hacked in the arm and face, no call. Barbosa got his arm all hooked up, no call. Nash can't get a charge go his way. They called a whack foul on Amare when he clearly went straight up. And Shaq gets no respect from the refs too. And he even got a T on that elbow to poor Diawara... dude didn't even see him coming from his left! The only one I found you guys complained in your board's game thread was the one when Anthony drove at Amare where actually Anthony should've called for an offensive foul because he got his knee way up high to Amare's stomach.

Indeed. Despite of those technical FTs we handed to them, we missed several of our own FTs and missed key defensive assignments all game long that would have given them a lead earlier and a better chance to win. We lost this game because we turned the ball over way too much, missed several FTs, were short handed, and just didn't hit the big shot at the end. Case closed. The officiating shouldn't be a factor if we played solid defense.
Again, I didn't expect us to win this game, I expected good effort and guys fought hard tonight. They just couldn't hit big shot down the stretch. We had opportunities tonight, can't win them all I guess.

that was inexcusable and game altering, stern needs to put his foot down again
A) this is the Suns you are talking about? If anything, he gets a raise from Stern.
B) Raja didn't get the ref to ask him if he wanted to fight
It seems fairly clear that Stern wants a Boston/Lakers final, and will do whatever it takes to make that happen. After that, I don't think he cares who wins.

The first was a double-technical with Carmelo Anthony. On the ensuing play, Bell was defending Anthony on the extended post when he was called for a foul. Bell grinned, laughed and slapped hands with Leandro Barbosa. Some part of that prompted official Kevin Fehr to eject Bell with his second technical foul.
"The Suns have 11 technical fouls in the past three games and 26 in the 22 games since Shaquille O'Neal made his Suns debut. The Suns had 14 in the 53 games before O'Neal's arrival. Bell declined comment.
"We keep fighting," Suns guard Steve Nash. "They can't expect us to not get emotional. It's an emotional, competitive game. And this time of the year, we feel like we don't get a break ever. Guys are going to get excited. We're out here playing with our heart and soul.
"The last ref who did that got suspended - threw out a guy for laughing with his teammates. (Bell) was laughing with Leandro. That was strange, especially on such an important game late in the season."
This came from an article in the Phoenix paper. Guys, I've followed Shaq since High School. He has never gotten the benefit of the whistle. Fans of the teams he plays against argue back and forth that he gets preferrential treatment from the refs, but now that he's on the Suns, watch closely at everything the defenders are allowed to do to him without putting him on the line, and watch at how little he is allowed to get away with. Sorry, but it hasn't changed in 15 years, other than getting worse.

I have to say that Nene did a great job on Shaq; he's probably the only guy in the league that Shaq can't back down.
If there's one thing I liked about Shaq last night, it's the fact that he seems to be getting some of his explosiveness back; he threw down two thunderous alley-oop dunks in the second half that reminded me of him in his younger days.
Good to see that from him...
I think D'Antoni should save Grant Hill until the Dallas game; Phoenix should have no problem beating Minnesota but Dallas is a big game followed by a tough road trip and there is no need to risk playing Grant against a team the Suns should easily beat at home. (Minnesota)
But he will be needed against Dallas and the upcoming road trip, in my opinion.
Just my take.

how can refs make a decision like this that affects a team getting home court in the playoffs and perhaps another team missing it (nugs win warriors drop to 9th)
its not right and there has to be some arbitrator at these games or especially the playoff games because its BS

However, if there's one thing Shaq did in this game that annoyed me, it was during the first half when he posted up, and instead of taking his time to back his man down and get a shot close to the rim, he rushed and took a deep jump-hook and it drove me crazy.
When he gets one-on-one coverage, he should just back his man down, and spin off him to get an easy dunk or a layup...instead, he has a tendency to settle for jump-hooks, at times.
He should NEVER settle for them when he's matched up one-on-one when he can get a dunk or a lay-up.
I don't know why he does it....

Shaq's post-game is really what has decayed since his lakers days. He isn't as quick as he used to be, though he's still probably 85% as strong. It's his incredible quickness for his size that allowed him to dominate...quickness that just isn't there anymore.
It's his passing/rebounding/shot-altering that we need. Anything else is a bonus.
