and even before that, going back to the beginning of the year, his shooting percentage and overall play was pretty decent.
He started off the year shooting 38% in November.
He rebounded, and had a nice December/January/February, but then had an equally brutal March (36.6%).
I wouldn't say he's exactly been consistent this year. And this is the most consistent year he's had.

Sometimes players goes through slumps. Cheeks has been fantastic getting young players to player over their heads. Jerking Green in and out of the lineup won't help his confidence. Once you take away a player's confidence, he's done.
As long as he isn't losing us games, I see no problem with Cheeks letting him play through his slump.
I couldn't agree more. Willie Green has suffered the misfortune of being labeled as a "gunner" early in his career ... and he was. He still suffers from that periodically but is getting much better. He is what he is ... a talented athlete who can be a lights out shooter who still needs to find out just how to utilize his talent. If he does (and he shows signs of doing so) he will be a very nice shooting guard. Whether he is a starter or not ... time will tell.

Green didnt outright win the SG spot in camp, Carney and every other player on our team gave it to him. Green and Evans would not start on more than 3 other teams in this league if that. They are too one dimensional. If we could replace them with actual starters in the offseason this team would be a legit 50-55 win team. Green or Carney will hopefully be gone by next season. Our staring lineup should be Sammy, insert new PF, Thad, Dala, Miller with Lou, Evans, Smith, Green or Carney, insert new bench player, Rookie.
Andre Miller is a bad 3pt shooter.

It is largely Mo's fault that we hate on Green so much. He is used improperly. He is a bench guy who can give you some scoring when hot. Mo should let Green's play that night dictate how many minutes he gets. Carney same thing from the SF spot. Both could earn more minutes if their defense was useful that night (i.e. the right match-ups)and other people are scoring.
I think the real starting 5 are guys they often finish with Williams, Miller, Young, AI2, and Daly. Mo balances out the 2nd team by putting Williams and sometimes Young with the 2nd team. It is not necessarily a bad strategy. Our 2nd team is often a big advantage for us.
