Predict next year's league leaders

Post#1 » by Ming Kong! » Wed Apr 2, 2008 2:32 pm

Ok I'll start:

For the most part I'll stick to the current leader, but I'll make one prediction:

Assists: Deron Williams, 12+ apg.
He's elevated his passing game with each year, 4.5apg, then 9.3apg, and now 10.5, and rising. In the last like 3 months, over 12apg, in fact I'm pretty sure he's leading the league over the last 3 months period.

Points: Dwyane Wade, 30+ PPG

He'll come back with a vengeance.

Turnovers Per Game: Dwyane Wade, 3.8 TOPG

At the same time, he'll still be turnover prone (just not as much as this year).

Wade has never even averaged 28 in a season...I dont think he's gonna jump to 30.

LeBron will probably win it again, unless Kobe becomes upset and makes it his #1 priority, which could happen.

Season ending injuries and playoff failures:

Houston Rockets.

And it pains me to say that...

Ex-teammates thrown under the bus:

Shaq

NBA games fixed by Stern and terrible officials:

99.9% of them

Overpaid, whiny, spoiled and (Please Use More Appropriate Word) athletes:

NBA

Deer-in-the-headlights expressions after being called for a foul:

Duncan

Flops:

Manu

Tacos consumed:

We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

I don't see why he couldn't.

i'm not sure... in my opinion it depends on how the teams change over the summer.
if lebron gets some serious help in the scoring department, i guess he won't score like he did that year. with pau playing a whole season with kobe as well as bynum coming back and being better again, i don't see kobe score that much.
well, sounds pretty dumb, but i could really see kevin durant leading the league in scoring with a year of nba expirience under his belt, a whole summer working out with nba strength and individual coaches, i can see it happen.

the assist race will be decided between deron and paul. that's gonna be a rivaly for the next decade, something really interesting.

the rebounding leader will be dwight for years to come, kinda like kg before. i just don't see any other player in the l able to match dwight's athleticism. if he improves his rebounds instincts and skill, i expect rodmanesque rebounding numbers.

If LeBron gets more help he won't have to force all of those outside jumpers and 3's. He'll attack more and it will only improve his percentage. He can always score 30+ considering he's the best finishedr in the league.

So,

PTS: LeBron
RBD: Howard
AST: Paul

Perhaps another question would be:

Who is going to be the next PPG leader...that isn't LeBron?
RPG leader...that isn't Dwight?
APG leader...that isn't Paul?

PPG - Durant
RPG - Chandler, Bynum, Okafor?
APG - If Livingston ever comes back 100%. He's got the best court vision I've seen since... maybe ever. If Seattle gets Rose then he could do it too.

This is just a thread started by a Deron homer with an agenda isn't it?
Thank you for all the memories BRoy. You were a class act and brought hope to an entire region for 5 years. You will be missed.
