The second matchup is way better. Shaq and Gasol vs. Shaq and Bynum is a wash. Sorry, but Odom will tear up Hill down low. Hill is too small to guard Lamar, but IMO Lamar can hold his own guarding Hill. Hill would absoluetly own Radman. If I had to guess, we'd have to stick Radman on Raja and put Kobe on Grant which would mean Kobe using a lot of energy. I'd say the second match up is better.

Who knows, the second matchup might happen because Phil might start Bynum on the bench.

I can't see the Lakers posting up Odom on Hill with Gasol AND Bynum also in the game. It will be pure Kobe isolations and dumping down to Gasol/Bynum in the post. Odom would become less of a focal point and drift into the background.

Nah, LO/Hill is a mismatch in favor of the SUNS. LO will just pick up fouls trying to keep Hill from lanes. Hill may be old, but he has very quick and explosive moves.

Lamar is quick for his size too. He guards the likes of Stephen Jackson, Manu Ginobli, Shawn Marion, etc. so Hill shouldn't really be too much of a problem. Also no way Hill can slow down LO on the boards. Guarentee you Lamar gets a lot more than he gives up.

It's going to be a good matchup nonetheless. David Stern will probably cream in his pants if this goes down.

If I was entering the playoffs and had to choose a center for my team between (current) Shaq and Bynum it wouldn't even be close. And Shaq is in a lot better shape than he was last season btw.

Are you sure a 100% Bynum and a Current Shaq wouldn't be close? At his best level of consistency, Shaq this year gives you 16/10. That's basically what Bynum was giving us for his last 10 games before his injury.

Amare v. Pau is less laughable than you think it is. For your system, Amare is optimal, but in the triangle, Amare would be less than ideal. Pau gives us the passing and mid-range game that's so crucial to an effective PF in the triangle. For whatever 30+ points Amare is generating for the Suns offense, Pau is doing the same with his 20 ppg and 3-5 assists on any given night. Neither of them play defense that I would count on or write home about.

It's one thing to think that your frontline is marginally better than ours, and quite another to think that's its hands down in your favor.

That's also not factoring in front court rotation, which you basically have none of. I'll take Turiaf over Diaw at this point. I also might take LO over Hill at this point, even though Hill has been fantastic.


And despite your hatred for Kobe, he can still light up the Suns. You might argue that that's the strategy, but a healthy Lakers team isn't exactly full of non-scoring, pass-dropping cupcakes anymore.

YEah but Shaq is a lot more influential in a game of basketball, so it doesn't matter what his stats are compared to Bynum.

Just my opinion, I think Amare will score more on Pau than Pau will score on Amare. And yes Pau gets assists, but when you consider how much Amare's presence helps Shaq and how much Shaq's presence helps Amare I'd say that evens out the assists situation. Plus the Suns operate differently, most of the assists are from Nash rather than a big guy in the high post. Simply, opponents are ALOT more afriad of Amare than they are of Gasol. Anyway, everything we say is speculation, the players have to do it on the court.

All I know is I wished that there would be a best of 11 or 20 games between these two teams.
The matchups , the rivalry , the ratings , I mean this is a dream come true for any basketball fan .
A good game , I hope it is phsyical , and no holding back from anyone or any team .
Its going to be sad to see one of these 2 teams leave since I think these two teams are the perfect example of rivalry, passion .
Sort of like the old days of Bulls-Knicks , Suns-Utah , or Portland and LA etc .
These are the games we all hope to see in our life time and I cant wait for the playoffs to start .

If this was Shaq prime vs. Bynum prime, Shaq would probably make Bynum cry. But Bynum has played really well this season, and he's also youthier than Shaq by 10+ years, so I think it will be a little closer than expected. Hope Shaq shuts him up.

Shaq was a domintaing force , when he came in the league theres wasnt much anyone can to do stop him or even to slow him down .

He abused everyone from Olajuwon to Ewing to even Amare .
He lost his edge and his domination basically around 03/04 when he was traded to Miami .

I dont think Bynum even comes close to what Shaq was in his youth , yet its not really fair to judge him (Bynum) since his first two seasons he really didnt get much P.T and he was a young rookie , and this year as his game and P.T picked up he got injured , so there really isnt anything to compare between two Cs .
One was a dominating force and one is talented unpolished , yet still unproven .
