Knicks Name Donnie Walsh President
As you can see and hear, the Knicks have named Donnie Walsh as President of Basketball Operations. Isiah's status will be evaluated and addressed att he end of the year. Discuss.

The Knicks still suck. They are going to have to become an under luxury tax, washed out team, and the rebuilding. It won't be until 2012 when Randolph's, Curry's, Richardson's and Jeffries huge contracts will expire.
Donnie Walsh has to be in this for the long term. Just for next year the Knicks have already committed over 90 million dollars in salary.

I wonder if this makes any difference at all. I doubt it.
At least the Knicks are bad enough this year to get a good pick. That's positive. I had hoped they'd be a 40 win team and screw that up too.

"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

There's no chance in hell zach, curry, jefferies, crawford all stay on the team during walsh's tenure. if people assume so then they don't comprehend the types of players walsh likes
It's not really about the types of players Walsh likes, it's about the fact that those guys will be largely unmovable. The main benefit of the Walsh hire is that he probably won't continue to dig a deeper hole, like Isiah would've.

I have to say I agree with every post so far in this thread. The best thing the Knicks could do for themselves is to fire Isiah Thomas and remove him from every role in the organisation. He's absolute poison to that team, and for as long as he's around, the Knicks will keep sinking lower and lower.
The Walsh hiring is a great move for the Knicks, but the only thing I hope is that they give him time. The owners have to understand that Walsh's hands are tied for the immediate future by the financial position that Isiah has put this team in. If they let him have a few years to get out from under some of these gigantic contracts, then he will be able to put his own stamp on the team and start to turn it around. The way the Knicks luck is going though, they'll fire him when he doesn't turn them into championship contenders after one year.
