Last year LBJ brought the Cavs to the Finals with a Euroleague-level supporting cast. Redd is perfect to play alongside him. They would be very good (Gadz and Bobby apart lol), too good to not be better than us for the next 5 years at least.
So what? You can still get the #2 seed without winning your division. That's a poor reason not to do a trade that helps you.

I am skeptical of the value of cap space considering Herbl Kohl rejected trades for Boozer and Marion in large part because of cost. However, I worry that Redd and Mo have much lower value than we think due to thier large contracts and major holes in their game making them attractive to a very limited amount of teams.

One guy i would like from Cleveland would be Anderson Varajeo. He's gadzuric but with a great bball iq, which we could definitely use (especially if we make cleveland take back gadz too).

The fact that Kohl vetoed those trades for financial reasons leads me to the exact opposite opinion: cap space is particularly important to a team like the Bucks since often times salaries will be the factor deciding whether a trade goes through. If we weren't already saddled with the horrendous contracts of Simmons, Gadz and (to a lesser extent) Redd, those trades would have had a much higher chance of being approved.

Boozer might be a Buck right now if we had more cap space at the time that trade was on the table; instead we had to turn it down because it was too big of a risk since we already had a ton of dead, overpaid weight.

I think we should call it luxury tax space, since when we call it cap space, people automatically think free agents. It's really just about the total amount of salary we have unused, and if you use it all up, you can't add any players, even draft picks (see Suns).

As am I mainly because it's of little value to a team like the Bucks, who presently can't attract top free agents. So creating cap room just means you end up overpaying for the free agents you can get and/or your own free agents.

I especially loath the idea of trading away the top player(s) on the team for cap space. I see zero value in doing that and plenty of potential reasons for the team to regress even further if that becomes a priority.
Nothing will not break me.

What do you guys think about this:

Michael Redd
Bobby Simmons
Charlie Bell/Charlie Villanueva

for

Damon Jones
Sasha Pavlovic
Wally Szczerbiak
Eric Snow (depending on Bell or CV)

I'd even be interested in doing something like:

Michael Redd
Dan Gadzuric
Charlie Villanueva

for

Anderson Varejao
Sasha Pavlovic
Wally Szczerbiak

Thoughts?

Both are garbage for the Bucks.

What are the Bucks looking for and/or what could make either of them better?

It'd be dumb to trade Redd. We need guys who can score.
