Raps remaning sched a JOKE - hard to get 5th seed...

Post#1 » by bebopdeluxe » Wed Apr 2, 2008 4:08 pm

While the Wiz have some tough games left (including a game with us at home that we MUST win), I am having a hard time seeing us pass the Raptors when I look at their remaining schedule. Their toughest remaining game is tonight....

At Atlanta.

Ugh.

And we have to finish ahead of them, as we lose the tiebreak against them...right?

:nonono:

As whack as it sounds, I think that if we can't get the 5th seed, I'd rather get the 7th seed...we would have to play Detroit eventually anyway, and I think we might have a better chance of beating them than the Magic...

I agree about the schedule, but I'd rather play well and be 6th....the momentum could serve us well, as I think we're overmatched against either team....I'd rather be overmatched on a roll heading into the post-season

Johnny:

I agree with you, bro...and I think the winner of the game in Washington will probably get the 6 spot.

I know that a lot of folks on this board love to make mountains out of mole hills.... but I really don't give a damn what seed we get.

Do I want to really face LeBron in the playoffs? Not really. While his team looks weak now, LeBron has shown that he can win a series by himself and that's not a comforting thought.

Do we match up well against Orlando? No. They've destroyed us twice this season and beat us a third time on our court in a close game.

Do we match up well against Detroit? Well, I think we do. We've played them 3 times and beat them once. The other two games that we lost we relatively close (lost by 5 in Nov and lost by 8 in Jan).

Call me crazy but I'm just happy that we're talking about the playoffs and not how many days are between now and the lottery.

The Wizards schedule is pretty soft too. Unfortunately I think we'll get seventh. I was hoping for fifth or sixth.

Yeah, they have the tiebreaker over us. We just have to take care of our own business and let the chips fall where they will.

I'm not a big fan of worrying about things you can't control. Sixers just need to go out and play good ball.

While I'd prefer to play the Cavs, I still think we got a shot vs. Orlando or Detroit. I'd rather play Detroit then Orlando. Just think we match better. We just have no answer for Howard at all.

If we continue to play over 500 ball for the next 6 wks we will be NBA champions. We've beaten alll the teams we might play sometime in the last 2 months.

Of course its not that simple, but atleast we are playing meaningful games in April. Nex year meaningful games in May, and then June...

The Raps did win. But the ref/scorekeepers got the last laugh.
With the ninth overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, the Raptors select Vyacheslav Kravtsov from the Ukraine. In Jim Kelly we trust!

I think the most likely scenario is the 6th seed IMO. We're not that bad against Orlando. I'd rather play Orlando over Cleveland or Detroit.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Grimes/Edgecombe/Gordon
Oubre/Edwards/Council
George/Watford/Walker
Embiid/Bona/Drummond/Broome

We can throw multiple players against Lebron- and even if he goes off his teammates won't kill us.

Orlando has 3 pt shooters which has been a Achilles heel for this team, and we only have one guy who can even sort of cover Howard. I agree Orlando lacks playoff experience, but I don't see how they are a favorable match-up except at the PG spot.
