As said before, don't let the Hawks recent win streak fool you. Their 4 straight wins have come at home against the Bucks, Bulls, and Knicks and a road win against the Grizzlies. All of those teams have made off-season plans are just going through the motions. The Sixers will come into this game with a chance to lock up a playoff spot in the East so I suspect that they will take care of business on the road hence...

My Prediction: 76ers by 5+

By the way, we will want to keep an eye on a couple of games tonight (Wednesday):

Toronto @ Atlanta: Obviously we're pulling for the Hawks in this one but I think the Raptors will take it.

Indiana @ Boston: If/when the Celtics win, our magic number will be reduced to 1 which means that the next win by us or loss by the Pacers will mean we clinched a playoff spot.

Milwaukee @ Washington: The Wizards have three easy games before finishing their season out with 4 tough games. Hopefully the Bucks show up for this one.

One thing to keep in mind with this game and the next (with the Hawks). The Hawks will be extremely motivated to win because they are fighting for a spot in the playoffs. They are even more motivated than the Sixers ... the Sixers have a playoff spot all but locked up. Motivation can play a significant role in the outcome of NBA games so do not be surprised if the Sixers get outplayed in this one.

I absolutely cannot pick winner in this one ... it would be a pure guess ... can you have a tie ?
If you cannot convince others that you are right, you probably aren't.

Well, we'll see just how motivated the Hawks are tonight when the play a very motivated team in the Raptors. I don't agree with you to say that the Hawks are more motivated than the Sixers either. Are the Hawks more desperate? Sure but I'm not about to say that they want it more than our guys do.

I concur - I think the Sixers are motivated to keep winning every night to improve their playoff position and just get better in general. I think these guys really enjoy playing with one other. Billy King really helped change the clubhouse culture by trading Iverson for Miller and getting rid of Webber. Our leaders Miller and AI2 are really team players and that sets the tone for the young guys.

TGP- although the Hawks have beaten weaker opponents, that can be turned into improved, mpre confident play.

Remeber the Sixers started their winning ways by beating up on teams they should beat. At one time in the beginning of their streak they had only beaten one team over .500 all season. The easy wins boosted the confidence of a young, athletic team, leading to more sustained and impressive wins.

Hopefully the Hawks will not follow the Sixers lead. I do hope they beat the Raps, but would be a dangerous team coming in on a 5 game winning streak. Should be some exciting april basketball, so all's good. Hope to see Mo turn to the young kids to carry us home.

If Willie and Reggie get alot of minutes then this game will not even be close. I still dont trust Willie after one good game and Reggie always struggles offensively. If the Hawks come out strong then we might be in trouble.

The 76ers have all the motivation they need for the next two Hawks games, having lost the first two games against them this season. The Hawks really do not know Thaddeus. Those games were earlier in the season. I would start Thaddeus in this game and give them a heavy dosage of Thaddeus. These next 2 games will be exciting, but the 76ers have no intention of even giving the Hawks one game.

I think we match-up well vs. Hawks. We have better defense and bench then the hawks and that will be the difference that will lead us to 2 wins.

They will win if Mo is smart and plays the young guys extended periods against this athletic team.

starting to feel like our chances at sneaking into 5 or 6 slipped away with those two consecutive losses when Mo reverted backwards with his lineup.

The good news: The Wizards, Raptors, and Pacers all lost tonight.

The bad news: The Hawks are within 3 games of the 5th seed (3 way tie) and seem to be playing solid ball. Hopefully our boys go in their and stop this streak of their's.

Also, the Cavs won tonight which more or less puts 4th seed out of reach.
