Must be true, if it's a rumor you read on Hoopshype.

I miss the old Salt Palace in Utah. That was the only arena in the Western Conference the Lakers were scared to play in with Karl Malone bullying A.C. Green and mountainman Mark Eaton lurking near the basket ready to knock down anybody who dared to approach the rim. Even the name "Salt Palace" conveyed an aura of elegance and invincibility.

Denver is underrated. Players hate the low air pressure and high altitude there.
The Lakers probably have the easiest home court to play on. People love getting up to play them, the court is nice and happy, the celebs are there, you can't see the crowd heckling you because of the lights out thing, the crowd is quiet because it's not alot of fans and also teams are used to going there because the clippers also play there.

I hate to admit it, but he's right. At least, during the regular season. I just went to the Memphis-LA game last week, and I was fairly disappointed with the crowd. I sat pretty close, like a few rows up from the bench in expensive seats, and those fans simply don't care... they are just rich people going out. Its hard to get into it and cheer, stand up, etc because if the people around you are not standing up, then you are sort of the one blocking the view, annoying people etc. So its a domino effect, at least in the lower areas of the arena. The upper areas, where I've also sat a few times is a bit better, but in general it seems like the arena absorbs noise more than it amplifies it. I have seen the Laker crowd @ Staples get pretty damn good, but thats usually only in the playoffs.
