Hire a new medical staff

Post#1 » by Rafael122 » Thu Apr 3, 2008 1:28 am

Abe shouldn't care how much it costs. If it means we won't re-sign Jamison fine, but we are a walking infirmary right now.

I'm sorry for venting but the injuries are getting ridiculous. Don't give me that "every team has injuries." Sure, but look at the last 3 years and look at how many players have gotten hurt on our squad. Friggin Stevenson was being helped out, I think Jamison wound up on a stretcher, and Daniels has one good hand.

Not to mention Arenas is playing on one knee.

Hire a world class medical staff and stop it with the Sibley bull. George Washington and Georgetown Hospital and Holy Cross Hospital are right there!

I don't know if the medical staff could neccessarily prevent injuries. A physical training staff on the other hand could.

But they can sure as hell diagnose one properly, and that's the whole issue here. Someone could have a broken hand, and the Wizards medical team would call it a sprain.

I don't even want to get into the Butler situation.

And the team policy of not revealing injuries is ridiculous. Daniels has probably had a broken wrist this whole time, and nobody can say a word b/c of a stupid policy. Fans deserve to know what's going on.

Look at Shaq, 2 days after he went to Phoenix, he said he was feeling better with the treatment he was being given. Our players just seem to get worse.

Hayes
Hamilton
Arenas
Butler
Daniels
Jamison

Haywood probably has a partially torn knee ligament that we don't know about.

The teams health deteriorates as the season goes on.

And it's just not this year, it's not some fluke. It's a trend and it seems as though Abe is ignoring it.

Is the team not stretching properly? What is going on?

phil and buck brag about how Butler, Jamison and Arenas lead the league in minutes played sometimes. Therein lies the problem.

The Curse of Lez Boulez. It's the only explanation. I'm fully expecting Stevenson to have the dreaded "high ankle sprain" and Jamison to have a fractured forearm. And Gil's knee will probably swell to the size of a watermelon overnight.

All Eddie Jordan's fault.

The injuries Washington has suffered through does seem kinda ridiculous. I don't know if its the medical staff or just bad luck, but something has to change.

Minutes Minutes Minutes. It all stems from too many minutes in the first place. Last night looked a little like bad luck though. WE get GIl back & lose DeShawn & Tawn. Awful to watch...awful...

Stevenson's ankle sprain and Jamison's separated shoulder were from playing too many minutes?

Deshawn stepped on a teammates foot and Jamison dove into the stands after a loose ball.

I was hoping for an "Amazingly Sucky Time Operator" thread this AM but I was sorely disappointed.

Yeah, these have nothing to do with minutes.

This honestly is a curse.

Let's just hope that everyone's alright come playoff time...especially Antawn.

Jamison got PUSHED into the stands by Charlie V. Let's blame Eddie Jordan.

That's why I said last night looked like bad luck. But EJ does play our starters too many minutes. Am I wrong? Jamison's 31. Hes houldn't be playing 40+ mpg. Caron has had nagging injuries all season. DeShawn had a sore knee.

Don't get me wrong, Last night looked like some sick joke. It was awful how it happened. Yes, Jamison was PUSHED into the stand by Villanueva. No call. BS. DeShawn was fouled going to the hoop, no call.

The referees suck, our medical staff sucks, and our luck sucks.

I would like to see some sort of NBA bell curve and see where the Wizards fall on the curve over the past 4 or 5 years, in terms of #'s of players injured and #'s of games. I would suspect we are pretty far off on one end of the curve. Its some kind of problem both with the trainers and the med staff. Both should also have some input on minutes a player plays while nursing ongoing/nagging but not IR level injuries.

I recall the Redskins purging some of the training staff when they were getting a rash of ankle injuries.

Clearly something is amis in training/conditioning realm. We just seem to wear down, and the med staff does not seem able to nip injuries in the bud right away. Instead we get player who seem to have nagging issues over the course of more than one single season.

(Or so it seems, I may just be too aware/sensitive 'cause this is the team I follow more than any other.)

April 3, 2008:

Jamison has a sprained right shoulder. Just take note of that, and don't be surprised if it ends up being worse.
