As I said on the other message boards, I don't like that mentality. That's very Knicks-esque. The players should be giving it their all regardless of what they think of their coach; if they had taken that attitude at the beginning of the year instead of waiting 4-5 months, they might not be having such a disappointing season, and they might have had a chance to make the playoffs.

And I don't like that article from Vincent, especially where he talks about maybe he'd win 50 if our team was the Celtics.

If Vincent hadn't said some of the things he said during the year and did some of the things he did (like calling out Swish and Crash and playing McMinus too much and leaving EO50 on the bench for loooooonnnnnnggggggg periods of time) then I would agree but I think that the players followed him as long as they could.

It's not like we have a team of trouble makers and head cases. It not like we have even one of them!! So for the players to collectively feel that way, you know there is something to it.

And he might not have done some of the things he did if players were playing up to the level they should have been since the beginning of the year, instead of taking games off or not giving their full effort, as was what was implied from that comment.

Disrespecting your coach or tuning him out, that is unacceptable and unprofessional behavior, and if it was the Knicks or someone else where crap like that happens, everyone around here would agree. It doesn't matter whether the coach is a fool or not, since every player that does crap like that believes his coach is a fool.

Well, on the one hand I agree with Hamilton, I do want everyone to play hard no matter what.

On the other hand, they're humans, and people in all fields get frustrated if their boss is incompetent and alienates them. Being one or the other is easier to deal with... if he just sucks, you still like him and try hard, and if he's just a jerk, everybody can listen to him even if they hate his guts. But if he sucks AND is a jerk?

Anyway, I can only hope that this doesn't imply they'll quit on our next coach as soon as things don't go well.

No, they won't. I mean, would they quit on Larry Brown? I don't think so. The Knicks did because they...well, we all know the Knicks roster, so I mean, comeon. They are uncoachable.

Brown has proven himself as a good coach, winning both the NBA finals and NCAA final four. The players on the Bobcats don't really strike me as selfish jerks. Felton, J-Rich, and Wallace are about as humble as you can get in terms of attitude.

Its all an elaborate plan. Jordan will "offer a position in the organization" to Vincent at seasons end, and Vincent will resign rather than taking the offer, taking the admirable way out. The Jordan will announce the hiring before the draft.

I would hope that if it is going to happen that it happens well before the draft. I want the new coach in tomorrow. Show Vincent the door asap.

Lets cut all the speculation, let the players know where they stand and where the front office stands. Make no doubt in especially EO50 and Felts minds that we have chosen them over the coach (hopefully that will help when negotiating their contracts?), give the new coach a chance to connect with the players and evaluate them to close this season out and also start thinking about the draft. Hit the off next season with a new approach and mind set and put this season behind us.

I bet the players would work harder in the off season knowing that Vincent was gone and that we had a real coach next season.

Question.....what is Larry Browns main style of play? I have seen him use various styles...and wondered what type of offense and defense would he run here... I know he is a great coach but....not sure about him...

i'm not sure you can really say brown has a specific style of play. his teams have played differently at every stop. but he will preach defense and he wont tolerate mistakes. he's a stickler for precision. offensively, he's smart enough to adjust to his roster.

The thought of Larry Brown being mixed in with our "situation" at PG makes me giddy. Be still, my heart!

I didn't want Larry Brown before, but now I'm thinking I want him just for the entertainment value.

Chauncey Billups wasn't exactly considered a prize before all of his success with Larry Brown in Detroit so maybe he can help Felton in a similar way. Both players are comparable in that early on in Chauncey's career he could obviously score but was a poor floor general, Ray is great at getting to the basket but doesn't always display elite decision-making ability. I think focusing on the little things with Felton would do wonders for his game, he needs to learn the nuances of the game (athletic ability is obviously already there) and Brown is known for teaching that.

I don't think it would end up in a NYK situation mainly because Starbury/Robinson/Francis are a coaches nightmare and having all three on one team was a joke. I think guys like J-Rich/Crash/Dudley/Okafor/Carroll who have a reputation as hard workers already would jump right in line with whatever Brown wanted. While I'd rather have Carlisle or Jeff Van Gundy there are a lot of positives to seriously considering Larry Brown.
