Which player had the more impressive comeback game?

Post#1 » by Stix » Thu Apr 3, 2008 4:33 pm

The following players have all returned to their respective teams, with 4 of them being last night; but which one had the biggest impact on their team?

Jermaine O'Neal (returned earlier this week)
Pau Gasol
Dirk Nowitski
Elton Brand
Gilbert Arenas

IMO, even though the Wiz lost, it still could have gone either way and if the Wiz werent so unlucky with the injuries I think they prob would have won the game. I say Arenas because he showed the same aggression and determination to win and you can tell it helped the Wiz. If he had started they definatly would have won.

I know the Mavs played a big game and Dirk did contribute, but I think that win mostly goes to outstanding playing from Howard and horrible shooting from Steven Jackson. Also GS was playing b2b and had just played the Spurs the night before.

The GS starters didn't log many minutes against the Spurs, so they were well rested. I thought Dirk had the biggest comeback. He came back a week and a half after he got hurt. His high ankle sprain takes many players 6 weeks to come back from. His quick return inspired the team to get a needed win. If we see the Mavs play like that for the rest of the season, his comeback transformed the Mavs from a lottery team to a title contender.

Elton Brand because he shot like 70 percent from the field didnt he? and hes been out since the summer. Im not gonna say he returned to form but we should all be ashamed that weve forgot about him.

in their net points (+/-) Arenas had the lowest with -8.

I wouldn't qualify that as a good comeback, I would qualify it as a good reason to stay on the injured list.

Brand hasn't lost a step since last year.
