Post#1 » by GameTime_3 » Thu Apr 3, 2008 3:15 am

Question from a heat fan,

First let me say that i love how your team plays and i hope you guys make the playoffs. But The reason im here is to ask you about Andris Biedrins, How much do you think this guy is going to be asking for this offseason? Also if Some team offers him 5yr 38million,will you match? 7.5 million a year?

I'd offer him 5 years, $40 million. Nothing more.

There was a report that Biedrins asked for over $10 million last off-season, but the Warriors declined to pay him that much.

I dont think you guys should re-sign beidrins unless its going to be a sign and trade

I think brandon wright can do everything beidrins does but better next season

(JUST HIT THAT JUMPSHOT).. And don nelson doesn't even play beidrins alot anyways, so why not spend a little bit more money for someone don nelson trusts in crunch time and try to snatch somebody like odom, brand, jermaine o'neil..

And DIOP> BEIDRINS

what are the chances biedrins plays for the qualifying offer next year, waiting for the 09 offseason as an unrestricted FA, and leaves the warriors for a team that doesn't have don nelson as their coach?

It's amazing how posters from other teams see how Biedrens has been dissed by Nellie all season and yet many of our own posters don't. Blinded by the Koolaid unfortunately.

Fortunately, Don Nelson won't be with this team after next season.

Lets put it this way, Mullin offered 5y/$52M and his agent counter offered with 5y/$62M.

If we get him for what you offered, it would have been done long time ago.

Nelson's going to want to go in a different direction than Wright-Biedrins...It's all up to Mullin to hang tough...Luckily ODB's gimmick ball doesnt have nearly the power it had pre-08-meltdown

The Warriors will not have Don Nelson as their coach by March of 09.

I'll start. Wright is not built for the Center position and will never get 26 boards in a game so that although he can be a pretty good rebounder, he won't be as good as Biedrens (especially when full healthy).

Also, one of these days we're going to be needing a power forward and a center to play together (post Nellie) which is only a year (or less). I wouldn't be surprised if he's dumped or quits during the middle of next season (he likes making early exits, that way he gets a half year pay while sitting on the beach). Wright is not a Center and right now can probably play small forward as well as Power Forward. Nellie ball is on the way out. Why should we move either our future Power Forward and Center for the next 10-15 years both with all star potential for an overpriced no heart riduclously expensive 25-30 minute tweener.

Nellie's going to be looking to move Biedrens next year, it's obvious by the way he plays him (doesn't play him) but this is one fan who wants no part of it. Perhaps in a Brand, Marion or Odom deal (I wouldn't do that either).

One thing Wright hasn't done is manage to weigh more than 210,and another is that he's yet to have one game with "full time" minutes. Yeah...otherwise a swell starting center.

Don Nelson? Nellie is old and will be here maybe another year. Biedrins is young and will be here maybe another decade.

Diop sucks.

Brand + JO are HUGE $$ and were injured much of the year.

Odum averaged 14 pt,is NOT a C is MUCH older is MORE $

Nope...Biedrins stays. When Nellie's retired....we still will be playing,but we won't be midget-ball.

Diop? Are you drunk or is that just a joke?

No way and no thanks......The Warrior's have a tradition of foolhardy trades but doing two in a season would just be too much. Monta >> Rose and neither will be a CENTER. We have had ONE good center since the Robert Parrish trade...and spent the rest of the time making desperation trades and draft picks to find another. We would be nut's to trade that keeper to get a downgrade at PG then trade our PG for a guy with a recent MAJOR injury who may not have even returned by season's end.

Probably Nellie will last one more season and when he goes the idea of playing 4 guards and no center will go with him. "Change-ups",gimmicks,odd matchups, are tactical moves, but not the ONLY tactical moves. Not having a glaring weakness is often a plus. not getting manhandled in the paint is a plus. Not wasting 1/3 of the roster while burning out your top guys is a plus. We can ADD those things to what IS working.

We don't need a revolving door. The roster has little history togather as is.
We barely assemble something starting to play like a team (or 2/3 of a team and 5 spectators) when Ka-Boom..let's blow it up,invite in fresh mercenaries, try figuring out the new roles, and about then Ka-Boom...time for a new coach.

We can always bring back Foyle to play Center. I hear he's available next year. He's really good on Yao. We'll still be paying his salary too, won't we? :noway:
