NBA.com now mentions Deron having more than 200 assists along with Nash. They just don't mention that it was this month, 'cause that would look really bad for them.
CP3 really deserved player of the month. He played out of his mind. What amazes me though is the stupidity of the so called experts. That just shows how much respect the Jazz get from the media.
Gotta say I love it. It's always good to be the underdog and most of all having Deron playing with a chip on his shoulder.

I can't argue with Paul being named player of the month, because it was a really tough decision, but it's not really fair to say that Deron got outclassed. He got outdone statistically, because he didn't need to do as much statistically, but he's been doing almost exactly what the team needs him to do to win almost every game, whether it's dominating with scoring, feeding the hot hand or some combination of the two. He's been HUGE and I think it's rather naive to say that Paul outclassed Deron just because he has to shoot the ball more for his team to win.

Which Paul is doing, outclassing Deron in almost every stat, and I think that Chris Paul is almost gonna outclass Deron in Field Goal percentage, something that Deron Williams have had to fight against the rage. Really, I think Marc Stein's list is the beast and has it right, it is about the system that pulls down Deron's stats.
I really still think they are 1-2 and 2-1, with Paul the upper hand this year, but definetly player of the month to paul, and Paul deserves to be in front of Williams so far.

F the man (ESPN). I think that we should boycott everything that is ESPN until they stand up and take notice that D-Will is a STAR.
Well we all know that this isn't going to happen so all we can do is hope that Deron saw this and is aware of the lack of respect he is getting from ESPN. This should "fuel his fire" for the rest of the season and well into the playofffs.

I know that Paul is outclassing Deron statistically and I said as much in the post that you are responding to. My only contention is that Paul's statistical advantage does not necessarily mean that he outclassed Deron in terms of his overall contribution to his team during the month of March. Stats don't tell the whole story, that's all I'm saying.

They are saying he will be a star, not an all-star though. Probably Michael Beasly, DJ Augustine, Durant, or Brandon Roy will make the All-Star before. Even before Baron Davis.

You're definitely right about that. Stats don't tell how much better Chris Paul was this month than Deron Williams. I understand, to a degree, the irritation with not mentioning Deron Williams 212 assist March....but let's not get carried away. Chris Paul has gotten ignored just as much as Deron Williams has....if not more.
If either was playing in a bigger city, like Chicago, LA, NY or Philly, it would be a whole different story. Deron Williams' level of play right now would make him the best PG in the game at various different times between 98 and 07.....but he just so happens to be peaking at the same time in which another guy--CP--is playing the position as well as it has ever been played. At least in my time watching this league. Paul was as good this month as any PG I have ever watched. Considering my regard for John Stockton, as well as the great stretches put together over the years by Payton, Kidd, Nash et al.....that is saying quite a lot.
As much as I f**king hate that little rat bastard, I can't argue with anyone trying to give him props. He deserves all the praise he gets, and all it does is make us look like whiney bitches when we get all bent out of shape about every little thing.
DW is an amazing player. Just enjoy that part of it. Don't let it be ruined by the (unbelievable) exploits of another player, and the subsequent praise he gets for them.

Don't be ridiculous. Deron would be voted in now if the voting were held today. The only reason he didn't make it THIS year is because of the team's slump in December.
He is already a star, an All-Star, and he will almost certainly be regarded universally as one of the superstars of the game within the next two years. This isn't ESPN's fault.

I think it's a little delusional to say Paul is getting overlooked, especially when you say he's being overlooked more than Williams. I don't, however, argue with your assertion that Paul is outperforming him.
When we get into "he's having one of the best months of all time" territory, then it's safe to say we've entered Hyperbole Village. That's quite a statement to make.

Didn't he lead the Utah Jazz to the WCF and also put very sick numbers with Bowen on him on the very much defensive minded spurs who also were the eventual champions. That in of itself I think is more valuable than what K-Money or B-Roy have done.
Putting a 42 point game on december was also worthless too?

You know my man that I agree with you on pleny of things, but you implying that this 22 and 23 year old PGs are peaking or close to peaking out is borderline delusional.

Yeah, Chris Paul is anything but overlooked. He gets mentioned at least 5-10 times during nearly every national broadcast whether he is playing or not.
All you have to do is go back to the Hornets/Warriors game on Sunday and watch when the Hornets made their real push with Paul on the bench when Pargo was on fire, and the only thing they were showing during the streak were close ups on Paul on the bench doing nothing as if he were contributing.
ESPN is a hype machine, before too long all the top 10 plays will be LeBron dunks on a fast break, Kobe no look passes to nobody, and Paul penetrating and throwing a lob to Chandler.
