Deron & CP3: Starting backcourt for West?

Post#1 » by erudite23 » Fri Apr 4, 2008 12:09 am

Given the difficulty that Deron Williams has had making it in years 2 and 3, I'm wondering whether it will ever be possible for these two guys to be the starting backcourt in an All-Star game.

Not just that, but PGs as a whole tend to lack the necessary votes to make it in as starters because the SGs in the NBA score so much more and are so much more spectacular in general.

As far as I can recall, there has never been two PGs starting for the same team in an All Star event, but I could obviously be wrong.

So, since these two are so compelling, and such an interesting duo to watch as they grow into full fledged dominant players, I'm wondering if people think that they will ever be VOTED IN as the two starting guards for the West at any point in their respective careers.

I'm about 50-50.

What does everyone think?

kobe will probably be voted in several years after he stops deserving it. that could be 6, 7, 8 years.

True, but if these two guys achieve the superstar status they appear headed for, then they likely will as well. Don't you think?

Kobe is always deserving of being an all-star. Even when he retires I'm writing him in.

Yeah Kobe is gonna get votes because he causes ratings and contreversey so he'll always be voted for.

But maybe when Kobe retires I can see them doing that.

when kobe retires there will be players like kevin durant, can happen but i don't think so, what is for sure is that they are the next kidd-nash duo for the next 10 years, well, probably will be better because can play defense.

Kidd's problem is not the defense ...

Kidd only problem is his shooting and thats it .

I'd say more like Kidd and Payton than Kidd and Nash.
