Let's see in the playoffs when it gets more physical and referres let more stuff go if they grow some nuts and not eject players for smiling. Effing panzies. We're still not getting the benefit of the doubt on many calls by the refs but I've liked seeing the physicality of Shaq rub off on the team and the Suns have become much more fiesty.

Every year refs let more stuff go in the playoffs in terms of calls. I for one like our chances more because of this. Right now we're getting the shaft but it's still the regular season. I'm looking forward to seeing a guy like Tony Parker or Ginobli tied up in a pretzel crying like a baby after a hard foul come playoff time. Suns just need the "Kill 'em All" we have no ally approach. Don't freaking allow a close game to be decided by a referee dammitt!!!

I'm a big Suns fan, but I can say that without a doubt, Mike is pretty much nonstop pissed off at refs during games, especially ones that count... and even a lot of ones that don't.

Dude wants to win like a a fish out of water wants an ocean.

I would love to see this. I do it in just competitive game of ball outside. If someone comes in I am going to foul hard, if I don't get to the ball. It won't be pretty. I would like to see Phoenix with that mentality more.

All I want -- ALL I want -- is for the game to be called the same in the regular season as in the playoffs. If the NBA valued the rule of law SO MUCH that they'd suspend Amare and Boris, or jack Toronto out of a win, they would.

I wouldn't even care that much if they consistently called it as a high-contact, heavy game. At least we'd know.

Y'know what kills me about ppl complaining about D'Antoni being the reason for this. When other championship winning coaches do EXACTLY the same thing they are "protecting" their players.

D'Antoni does it and is automatically just labelled a whinger. If we ever win this bloody thing ppl will prolly turn around and say "what a guy, he goes out there and protects his players".

It's just BS as far as I'm concerned. Refs *should* be inpartial and not hold grudges (otherwise they're no longer impartial) but they aren't.

It seems all refs hold some sort of grudge against selected players/coaches.

I take reffing on a match by match case and I must admit it has been pretty close to abysmal lately (as mentioned in the last couple of gamethreads I've been around for).

I hate it when ppl say "we lost because of the refs" because I think that only happens really once in a thousand altho some ppl like to say it every game. The fact is tho I hold absolutely no confidence in the league or the refs to deal with reffing professionally and consistently and they only have themselves to blame after the offseason and more importantly not going out of their way to clean up the situation.

It's a disgrace and this league, its sponsors and MOST importantly the fans deserve better. I actually don't hate Stern and think for the most part he does a pretty good job but he has seriously dropped the ball on this issue and the league is suffering for it.

stu jackson rescinded the T on raja that got him kicked out against denver the other night - the one where he laughed after the horrid foul call.

how empty and stupid is this? he basically admits the ref was biased and wrong in calling the T but how do we get that game back? how do we get raja back out on the court to give us a fair chance of winning the game, a game we were shorthanded prior to the ejection?

rescinding that T is basically an admition that biased refereeing affected the outcome of a game with no repercussions to the ref or the NBA whatsoever.

...and that's what hurts the most.
