anybody seeing lakers-mavs...kidd's jumper

Post#1 » by popeye7318 » Sat Apr 5, 2008 3:43 am

His jumpshot looks alot fluid and better. He used to kind of flick it. He altered it and has put more of an arc on it and it looks alot better.

lakers perimeter defense make a lot of player's jumper look better..hes shooting 50% from 3 with the Mavs though.

He has good days and bad days with his shooting . Some games he shoots lights out others he doesn't hit a thing .

You can't rely on him to score consistently but there are given days he's going to hit a lot of shots.

He's inconsistent, this is part of his inconsistency. It's not like he has no jumpshot.

might be luck or bad defense or it might be dirk taught him a thing or two. He practiced house and hours with Dirk when he first arrived so maybe he has improved.

Kidd's 3-point shot has been good all season.

what? Jason kidd has a jump shot? get out of here. He is the only guard that teams defends him like a centre on the perimetre.

:dontknow: maybe thats just a testament to how much the nets have sucked over the past four or so decades.

What does PLAYER achievement have anything to do with TEAM achievement?

Yes, he's not going to be confused as one of the best shooters in the league, but his 3 point shooting is much improved from his first stint in Dallas and even Phoenix.

Kidd has made more 3 PT FG as Net (7 years) than Keith Van Horn (5 years). Van Horn was a 35% 3PT shooter as a Net, Kidd is at 34%. Not bad for someone who "teams defend like a center on the perimeter". Heck, guys like Arenas shoot 36%, Iverson at 32%, Marbury at 33%, Baron Davis at 32%, yet you don't hear anyone comment about these guys shooting.

FYI, Kidd and Eddie House spent majority of last season betting against each other on three-point shooting contests. One of the NJ newspaper ran an article on it stating that Kidd was holding his own very well against a bonafide 3 point shooter like House.

The thing is, Kidd is VERY streaky. It's not that he can't shoot. He just can't shoot consistently.
