Season on the Brink...GS at NO..10AM Sunday on ABC

Post#1 » by Sid the Squid » Sat Apr 5, 2008 4:45 pm

Can the warriors do it?

Key Matchup? Are you kidding me? It's BD vs the league MVP..We have to have Badazz Baron to win..If BoomFizzle shows up ? FORGET ABOUT IT.

But who knows..Monta could come in and win this fricken game..

What am I most scared of ? CJ hitting 4 or 5 jumpers in Memphis may mean 20+ minutes for him in New Orleans :nonono: ..You know the ODB..He loves his shooters....

I also am terrified of a Trainwreck return..Anybody who knows the warriors history, knows that Frenchie doesnt just step back in on top of his game..It takes months...Sometimes years.

Let's get a heavy dose Brandan Wright...Throw the Italian in there a little too...Pass the fricken ball Baron and Jack..Why can't we get a ton of shots for Goose, B and M8?..Move the f***g ball you old bastard's...

I'm gonna post again only once and come back when the game is done,
let's hope for that early morning game to slow down the hornets, and let the warriors blow by them.

Jackson has to start shooting better, and has to try to lockdown Peja from the 3, he can't go off for 8 3's again.

Baron has to be infront of Chris Paul for ALL 4 quarters, not 3 like last time.

Biedrins and Brandan have to try to cover the pick and roll with West and Chandler.

don't let bonzi wells go off for 10 + rebounds, and please don't let pargo or any of those random bench players go off.

If you can keep Chris Paul out of rhthym this team losses.

Lets see more Marco, let him spread the floor and take those 3's, he'll be the peja on our team. and Baron has to have an incredible night back in his home town, we ALL know he's going to get booed, so that may get to his head, let it not BD, show them why your better than they are.

In all we need this to happen
Warriors Win; Nuggets Loose; Mavericks Loose, We tie for 7th-8th.

don't let this or this happen.
Warriors loose; Nuggets Win ; Mavericks loose
Warriors loose; Nuggets loose; Mavericks Win

We can let this happen
Warriors Win; Nuggets loose; Mavericks Win.

Let's hope for the first.

brownwarriors, I think the Warriors play better when they are loose.

Seriously though, if Baron and Jack can real in the chucking and one on five crap, we have a shot to win this.

I want the same starting lineup that we put out against Memphis. That's probably the best defensive lineup that Nelly can put together right now.

Pietrus is back? I hope he doesn't take Belinelli's minutes.

I don't think there is a guard in a league who can stay with - much less contain - this guy for all 4 qtrs.

I agree that the key is to make sure we cover the pick and roll and don't let him set other guys up to go off on us.

That would be the way to keep him off balance/out of rhythm. That and running different defenders at him -- Davis, Ellis, even Jax -- just so he is constantly having to make adjustments and not able to find a comfort zone.

Is it likely we stop him? Nope... but the key is limiting his ability to rack up assists...and that's going to depend more on team defense than anything else.

Ya'll want to stop Chris Paul? Really? Have you seen him play?

If you want to stop Paul, make him take jumpers off the dribble... close out well, and don't let Chandler / West get inside position off the drive... NO is not a hard team to figure out Xs and Os, but they execute very well thanks to Paul...

That means small ball is NOT an option... no Monta guarding Peja. No Buke guarding West. If we don't have a 6'7 guy, at least, at SF, whos going to bother Peja's jumpshot? The guy releases at his peak as nearly a 6'9 guy with long arms.

Biedrins needs 30+ in this game, and Baron needs to attack the rim to get Chandler out of there as much as possible...

Whats the point of analysis anymore though? :dontknow: We'll see Jack on West, midgets on MoPete and Peja, and Wright gearing up for his 4th quarter garbage time run where Buke, CJ and Cro jack up shots for 12 minutes :banghead:

BD,SJAX are well rested since we blew out Memphis. BD and SJAX really need to shoot and play well for the W's to win against the Hornets. Biedrins needs to continue his aggressive play on the boards.

We cannot allow West, Peja to get hot. I'd like to see Harrington guard West and have Bwright come over from the weak side and block the sh*t out of him.

Lastly we cannot allow Paul to go where ever and do whatever he wants. If I'm Nelly I'd have C.J. Watson guarding Paul so BD doesn't pick up the fouls.

I hope MP doesn't come back and Bellinelli or Harrington goes off in this game to offset Peja.

Play a zone...put BW at the top...and noone double...Chris.... Chris will not be able to drive and dish....and his mid range shot will be extended because of BW's reach.....

Warriors win with that strategy, IMO.

Huge game....win this...then the next three look very winable.

We need the TRIPLE TOWERS (BieObWright) with Baron and Jackson starting tonight so that we can have depth on your bench (Monta,Al,Buike,Petey (yes I said it), and Beli. Keep in two of the three TOWERS at all times and this game is a lock.

Eh. Who am i kidding?

On a serious note though, I think we can DEFINITELY pull out this game. I know Davis is going to be motivated for this game (game is HUGE, AND its national...but not just national...ABC! When's the last time we were on a non-cable channel nationally televised??), and when Davis is on top of his game I think he's better than CP3. I don't htink this game is up to Monta actually because I already know Monta is going to come in and do what he always does. This game is hands down up to Baron and Jackson's 3 is going to have to fall. We can get this

We won with small ball once against NO, but I don't think it'll work this time around. Either AB and BW need to be in the game the whole 48 to guard the rim and help out on Paul and West. NO centers have average at best offensive game. If Paul and West get theirs and contain the rest, we should be able to win this game.

I sure hope Nellie doesn't put a starting lineup of BD, Tay, Buke, SJax and AL. We'll get off to a bad start and game over if we don't come out on fire.

Win this game and we should be tied with Dallas after Sunday's game.

Please no CJ. If he can't stay in front of Parket, what do you think Paul would do to him. BD will have a hard time w/ Paul, but he Jack can switch that pick and roll all day, and hopefully AB and BW will there to help.

The last time we beat them, we didn't play D-Leaguers.. we played guys moving the ball very well and our FG% / assist ratio reflected it... guys like Matt Barnes were logging heavy minutes while Buke/CJ/Pietrus weren't given any time... lo and behold, a convincing win against the Hornets in New Orleans...

Jax and Barnes had aberration games... the Hornets have us topped at every position except SG (since Tay plays there)... I guess we also have the better Wright too. That's about it... SF is about a wash.

Coaching? Not even a comparison.... nothing short of a miracle keeps us in this one. Luckily our "SG" can walk on water some nights..

I wouldn't call our last win a convincing one, even though we won by 10+ points. Game was close till the 4th. We got hot and they got cold and we came out w/ a win. That was one of our best played games all year. I bet no one biiitched about small ball that game.

Barnes should get suspended? so I hope our D Leaguer Buke keeps playing good and cause he will be a key player if we want to win this crucial game.

Let's hope that since the Hornets clinched the playoffs that they sit some of their starters. With that said, Bscott will probably want the win for home court advantage...Bastard.

I hope that BD goes off against his old coach, Byron Scott and against Chris Paul. We really need to avoid these slow starts damn it!!!!!!!!!

I don't understand all the hate against C.J...I'd rather have him instead of a healthy Troy Hudson????
