Linton Johnson?

Post#1 » by vini_vidi_vici » Sun Apr 6, 2008 10:04 am

Now first we make J Smooth an all-NBAer, Jason Richardson an Allstar, and Vince with a bad ankle (I know hes always injured) MVP candidate. In the Charlotte game, I may be mistaken but didnt even G Wall leave early in the 1st or 2nd.

Anyways its clear we lack the defense out of the 2-3 spot, so isnt that why we brought in Linton Johnson? To not even get a sniff of PT, its frustrating to understand the logic, even in an interview with Paul Jones on the FAN the other day Alex English mentioned him as our move before the playoff push and his role to hopefully defend the perimeter players. With 5 games left when do we see him??

Anyways im not about to Panac(!), I agree our deficiences our a secondary scoring option, the shot blocker, and a perimeter defender. But I think Rasho has been more than enough to mask what Bargs doesnt bring, and we have enough scoring as a whole on this team. I really think this team just needs to find a way to stop dribble penetration, and draw more charges (where we miss Mo Pete most).

We have the tie breaker over ATL and PHI, and the latter team while ahead has DET, @Was, and CLE ahead. And ATL is still two games back!

So Free Linton Johnson or did we get him to coach defense?

Since we are on tanking mode, the Smitch should start using the athleticism he has. I would like to see Joey, Linton, and Hump together on the floor. They couldnt be any worset than Delfino, Bargnani and Kapono.

Im not even suggesting that were tanking it, but why sign a guy to a 10 day and let it expire today, without inserting into games in which our perimeter D wasnt doing much. I mean we know what we have in Joey, Kapono, etc. Alot of guys have become good players after 10-days, and I remember seeing some buzz on here when we signed him.

I would like to see more Joey when Delfino and AP are ineffective, or when we use Kapono run plays for him. But im suggesting Linton merely on defensive prowess.

Good points, definitely think we should be playing him more....instead of Graham- which others want. Playing Kapono, Delfino just isn't working

yea 1st post, I dont post, I just read the site. Its the most informative Raps-centric website out there. But I was frustrated after last nights performance, and I hadnt seen anything on Linton since his contract expired today.

Sam wasn't the solution, but he wasn't the problem either
